So today was the 8 week mark for my pots of cephalotus seed i nthe fridge. They are on the surface of a peat/sand mix and appear to have made it through mold free.
I just want to make sure that my current plans are suitable now.
I plan on putting them under my T5 fixture still in their bags...

And I do not have the room to use them all so...I'm looking for mostly newer people that don't have a Ceph that want a "chance" at a Ceph. I'm planing on 5 lots to mail out, I'll try and get 3 good leaves per person...
Up for bids is a tiny Cephalotus follicularis 'Emu Point Giant'. The orginal mother plant was from collected seed from the largest Ceph from that area at the time of collection.

Hi everyone I have a N. thorelii x aristo, a ramispina and a ventricosa x fusca. Just seeing what neps I could get for them or all of them for a ceph or heli just pm me if interested all of them have pitchers and appear to be healthy. I can take pics of the plants if youd like as well.
Divided my Ceph "vigorous" today and got 4 plants out of it and some leaf/pitcher pullings.
I thought it was time to do something about the overcrowding, haha.

These are the divisions, which I managed to get roots with all of them

And the leaf/pitcher pullings...
now i have 3 new flat leaves growing very well on my ceph, but there is no sign of new pitchers. i did read that cephs are very slow growing. but 3 fast growing new flat leaves and no new pitcher makes me wonder. also read that during spring they might get flat leaves.
when does ceph usually...
I'm only a beginner in the carnivorous plant arena but I'm a long time gardener.
I have an Albany Pitcher Plant and two Venus Flytrap varieties. They are all growing outside and uncovered at the moment.
Temperatures at this time of year are about 15-40 C.
The pitcher plant was half eaten by...
yes, pix is good. i'll take some tomorrow. two if them are definitely flat leaves. the third one, i can't tell yet. since it looks like there are plenty of flat leaves, should i take one off for leaf pulling? is there certain time of the year that is best for the leaf pulling?
This is the first strike from the ceph leaf pullings I planted in December and thought I would share. Last year it took much longer for results, so surprised when I saw this one today.

*pix added* one of the new pitcher on my ceph is turning black.
so I took a look at my ceph like everyday. and noticed one of new pitcher's lid is turning black. rot maybe? should i cut it off? if so where at? right at the pitcher or close to the "trunk"?
i was watering cephs, very young small one, every other days. i'll let it sit on a tray for couple of hours and remove them. then i didn't water it for 3 days now. i didn't want the root to have any problem. the lids are not fully open, but otherwise the pitcher looks fine.
i know some folks...
Hello,
As some of you know I inherited a Ceph collection from Dennis Hastings when he pasted last year, you can read more in this post. http://www.terraforums.com/forums/showthread.php?132120-Dennis-Hastings
Most the plants seem to have recovered pretty well. I have never felt like I grew...
Hi guys,
I currently keep my CPs in my terrarium (10g tank with peat/sand/coir mix) or my sunny windowsill. I am planning on putting a plant rack together to give me more space, better control, and overall convenience. The rack I'm looking at is a wire shelf found here. I'd like to confine all...
Ok so here i go. The winter long night has passed, and since we didnt go the way of the dodo. I'm beginning to lengthen the photoperiod on my terrariums once again , I add 30 min to the timers about every 10 days till I get to 14 hours a day.
I've done this this way for several years now and...
I've got a new DSLR and been experimenting with focus stacking. I have a LOT to learn yet but thought I'd show one of my early attempts. Please feel free to comment on whatever you think I have got wrong with the photograph, as I need all the advise I can get.
