Up for grabs today are 4 packs of Drosera capillaris seed that came as long arm form. The plants don't look specifically long armed to my untrained eye, but easy grows none the less. Said to have dormancy requirements, my plants keep trucking along with little change other than the occasional...
A while back on another forum I read a thread about a person "doing everything wrong with Darlingtonia." Essentially, he obtained a death cube cobra from Lowe's, and, not knowing what to do with it, placed it in a sealed glass jar terrarium in Miracle Grow potting mix. He watered by spraying tap...
I am hoping to sow some D. auriculata and D. menziesii ssp. menziesii and was wondering what the best protocol was. I understand they need heat stratification, but is it a dry or wet stratification? How moist is too moist, and how long does it take for them to pop up? Cover or leave open to the...
This is where I'll post about my indoor collection. I decided to be so public with it because I am very serious about making it better (all within means of course!). I recently lost a great many of my older plants, though a few decade + ones survived my year off at university. As I plan on...
I just collected three packets each of D. capensis 'typical' and D. natalensis seeds each this morning. From past experience, both of these will germinate very quickly without cold stratification at a very high rate. They are ideal for new CPers, or people who want to try to grow Drosera from...
So, I ordered seeds of D. rotundifolia from a nursery owned by a well known educator in Maryland, and wanted to know if they were already stratified. I assumed they weren't and they have been on the fridge for several weeks now. I would like to know if that was a good idea, and if anyone else...
so this is my plan, let me know if any of it is a bad idea
going to use chopped dead lfs in a clay pot which will be sitting in water similar to this http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3190.html
but with water around the pot rather than soil so the clay will soak up the water like a self...

I love misidentified seeds as much as the next person ((( sarcasm ))). However, the seeds I got from a well known online vendor in the UK that were suppose to be of Sarracenia venosa "Green" ended up being Sarracenia "Not venosa Green". I am offering it here for trade. Below is a list of plants...
I am looking to acquire the following:
Drosera filiformis "All Red" - I currently grow "Florida Red". I am told there is an All Red variety that doesn't go dormant and drops seeds that do not need stratification. If it exists, I want it. The Florida Red that I have does go through a brief...
This is one of several plants I am listing for trade. As you can see there is a basal.
The plant shown in the photos is growing in a 4" pot. Looking to acquire the following:

i really procrastinated this year and didn't start stratifying my sarr seeds until just today. was wondering if its possible to do a "quick stratify" by leaving them in the fridge for like a week and then do a few freeze/thaw cycles for another week.
Hey folks,
I'm from Trinidad, of the twin island country of Trinidad and Tobago located in the West Indies (Caribbean)... nice warm country where we only have two main seasons: Dry season and Rainy season.
I recently joined Terraforums mostly because growing carnivorous plants is pretty new to...
I was very fortunate to get ahold of some D. omissa seeds and would like to get them to come up. They were sowed about a month ago and have done nothing since. 4 other species of Drosera sowed at the same time have germinated just fine and already have 4-5 leaves. I am assuming D. omissa has...
I have loads of Drosera tokaiensis seeds available to trade for some uncommon varieties of D. capensis. Not overly interested in typical, alba, or all red (got some already). I'm interested in any and every other variety so hit me up if you want to trade. I have thousands of seeds of these...
Hello everyone I recently received some free d peltata seeds with a trade on her thanks Bruce. My question is i have zero experience i know they require different treatment than mosr drosera. I just need some pointers what time of year should i sow them do they require any kind of stratification...
So today was the 8 week mark for my pots of cephalotus seed i nthe fridge. They are on the surface of a peat/sand mix and appear to have made it through mold free.
I just want to make sure that my current plans are suitable now.
I plan on putting them under my T5 fixture still in their bags...
Anybody use tebuconazole on seeds? The Sarr seeds I treated with this stuff during stratification didn't germinate very well at all. Wondering if my problem might have been the fungicide.
So a very kind grower in egnladn was kind enough to sell me a few varieties of Cephalotus seed.
While I'm sure ot will take them a bit to make it through customs, I still want to make sure I have everything prepared when they get here.
I've been doing plenty of reading, but want to make sure I...
