I recently was the lucky recipient of some fresh vft seeds. I'm looking for the best way to sow these seeds? Do I need to stratisfy them like Sarrencia seeds or just sow them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
This year, I actually got flowers on one of my outdoor VFTs.
I have 3 packets of 10 seeds each, free to good homes. Shipping (US only) is on me. First three responses get the packets.

I should add that they are normal VFTs, nothing special.
Boom! Who doesn't love pictures? We all love pictures, and this thread is where you'll find a lot of mine!
Here's an overview of the current collection.

Hey all,
I have a 5 inch or so start of U.nelumbifolia available for trade. It does not have a fully developed photosynthetic stolon, but has two that are starting off strong, but still juvenile. I love this plant, so I'm happy to get more growing out there. I can't figure out how to post a...
How did you get involved with neps? Do you have a favorite? if so, what draws you to that plant?
My fascination with Nepenthes started long before I had the means to care for one. I had a VFT and a purple pitcher plant, and was reading up on their care, and in doing so, read about the care of...
Hi everyone.
I've only been growing CP's for about 1.5 years now. I signed up for this forum a while ago, and wasn't really active until I heard someone had a thread about hybridizing sundews here. Right now I've got a decent collection of Cp's including a tub of VFT cultivars, sundews(of...
Hey everyone,
For the past few months, I've had a problem with my outdoor cats getting into one of my bog gardens. They'll rip the pitchers off my sarracenia, step all over my drosera, and pull my VFT out of the soil and leave it on my deck, traps all bitten off. Miraculously, all of the plants...

Pictures and Questions, that is!
Learned a few new things in a thread started by Jimscott, so I decided to make a new thread to show some pictures, and ask some questions. At any rate, I offered seeds from a plant that probably won't produce any viable seeds  (not knowing any better -...

In recent years my hobbies have been focused around living wall set ups & growing orchids indoors. About a year ago I acquired two N. alata that were very patient with me while I figured out their care. Then I recently started looking into pings when I developed a gnat problem in my orchid...
Hey Guys! I don't post very often, but have enjoyed reading what everyone has learned about cps through the forums.
As Dragoness has just demonstrated...sarracenia can be pretty tough. Many other forum members here have also shown off their bogs in areas normally too cold for most cps (which I'd...
I have a runty little royal red VFT that I'm...well not worried, exactly...but concerned about. It doesn't get much to eat, as the traps are small, and the bugs seems to prefer the greener, brighter plants surrounding it. As such, it's growth is almost at a standstill.
So, I figured that the...
Well the title says it all. Over the weekend, now that school is out, there have been a lot of restless individuals in the neighborhood where a friend of mine lives. This friend of mine permits me to keep a small garden of temperate CPs on his back porch knowing that I am in between...

Hey everybody,
I'm having trouble with my sarracenia; my drosera and vft are thriving in the same exact spot and conditions; however, my sarracenia seems to be wilting. Is it in too small of a pot perhaps? Any thoughts that could help me out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys...
I nominate this one:
This has to be the lankiest, mankiest VFT leaf I've ever seen, lol. Not the kind of thing people usually take pictures of. Hell, it's even got warts (upper left of the leaf).
The reason it deserves a close-up is because I made it this way, by being impatient, and trying...
I'm (extremely) new to the hobby, though my enthusiasm for CP's goes back nearly 20 years (how can that be!?).
As such, I've accumulated a teeny-tiny collection, while simultaneously devouring every F.A.Q., discussion, tutorial, opinion, etc. on the cultivation of CP's in general. I also own...
I spotted these Darlingtonia sprouts peeking up amongst a clump of VFT in the bog. It seems one of the bog cobras is sending out some stolons and decided this looked like a good place to sprout, haha.
