So, my local Home Depot went bonkers and ordered a vast selection of cacti and succulent of all sizes for low prices. I took advantage. Picked up some new Kalanchoe I've been searching for as well as a monstrose Cereus Peruvianus and a good little collection of living rocks. Here's some general...
Hello there! I'm both new here and to growing CPs, but I've always been fascinated with them. Anyways, I lied a little - I'm actually very confused and worried about how my Ping is doing... =/
I've never really had much experience with plants. The last time I had to take care of any plant was...
My dad, after seeing some of my succulent terrariums, decided that he would commission me to create a 10gallon terrarium for his car repair shop. In total I spent about $210 on the whole thing including the lights. Not bad considering the price of the plants I put in it. They are mostly...
I got one from a trade and after acclimation i am supposed to let it dry out for the succulent phase until the spring....my question is do I water it any at all? like maybe mist it every now and then?
I go to the NC State Fair every year to eat tasty but terrible fair food and to see the plant displays. This year was pretty cool, nothing particularly special but I figured I would share it with you guys.

Hello everyone,
I just recently decided to give up all my aquatic gardens and move to more terrestrial plants. I am starting a carnivorous plant collection and a succulent plant collection. It will be a little challenging since Phoenix, AZ is a very dry climate, but building a system that will...
Up for auction is an unrooted Hoya cumingiana cutting that roots quite easily. It will take some time to reach flowering maturity, but it's well worth it. The flowers of this Hoya smell somewhat like cinnamon, unlike the fetid stench of other Hoya species.
Easy to grow, but somewhat more...

A few months ago I received some cuttings of various plants as a throw in with a carnivorous plant I received. The few that survived have really taken off to say the least. So I would liek some help in identifying 2 plants currently taking over a window!
First, a succulent like plant that...
So within the past month I received some cuttings or an assortment of succulents. I need to get some pictures, but I currently have no idea of the species or anything. I potted them all up in 50/50 sand/peat mix. Of the 5 different plants, two already produced some new growths from the base...
As growers like Kim Magnuson and John Hummer say it's the plants that do the work for you.
You have to love it though when the plants do make the job easier for you. Like only having to water them once or twice in the winter. Or do nothing at all to propagate them.
Some of the Mexican...

Love this thing.. it's like the cyclosecta of the succulents. The leaves are quite thick and soft feeling. More so than they look.
Grew all of these from simple leaf cuttings. Just set them on the sandy media, and they took right off. Just wondering what it is..
I have 5 seed producing plants in a large planter. I took a shot of a seedling more than two years ago. These plants were all sold at a Connecticut Cactus and Succulent Society meeting in NJ this past summer.
I have fresh seed from time to time. If anyone wants any, its yours for the postage...

I also have a few pots of VFT, about 5...
