    Mammillaria prolifera flowering

I just noticed today that my Mammillaria prolifera is flowering. This plant grew from an unrooted pup I had purchased for 25 cents at a local Cactus & Succulent Society sale a few years back. These plants are very easy to grow and because they pup so easily, they readily spread across a pot...

    My Pinguicula moctezumae is confused...

Hi everyone - I got this P. moctezumae about a month and a half ago from an online vendor. It came growing in LFS, and I decided not to repot it into a different medium based on the experiences of some members on this board. However, since I got my plant, it hasn't grown at all. It also...

    Succulent ID?

Hey, TFers! I was given this plant a few days ago and have no idea what it is or how to care for it. I think it's a succulent, so I thought I would post this here. If it's the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Anyone have any thoughts?

    White mold on soil problem

I found white mold on the soil of my ventrata today. A couple of months ago i repotted it and just filled up the room between the rootball and the pot with new soil. It's the new soil that has mold on it. I usually water the plant every 1 or 2 days, on dry dies the plant sucks up all the water...

    re-did grow space

Well, as a few of you know, some painter got paint spray all over my minibogs Thursday afternoon, so I spent the most part of yesterday and today unpotting, repotting, and shipping off all sorts of plants. I don't think the plants are the worse for it other than spending 2 days in a tub of...

Better late than never!! Up for bid is the Southern delicacy...Smithfield country ham! :boogie: Country ham is not like that bland boiled stuff people make sandwiches out of. This is robust, flavorful and...salty (since it is salt cured). Like olives? Capers? Caviar? Then salty...

Which Mexican Pinguicula remain carnivorous year-round?

To my understanding, there are a few Mexican Pinguicula that grow year round. For example, Pinguicula Agnata doesn't produce dry succulent leaves and will remain carnivorous year round. Same with Moctezumae and Emarginata. Are there any other Mexican Pinguicula that remain carnivorous year round?

    Succulent Trading post

My succulent collection will be exploding in the spring with many stapeliads and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good trading site/forum etc? I already use Garden web and I was looking for a cacti and succulent trading forum in the US.

    home depot tillandsia

While roaming around my local Home Depot today, I saw a stand of really nice, big looking Tillandsias that weren't their usual :censor: brand, so I yoinked them - bulbosa, ionantha, graomogolensis and tenuifolia (from their tags). Pic: I might go back for more because there's one that almost...

Noooooo! Succulent 911! Moisture/temperature shock in Jatropha podagrica

My kitchen is being renovated, so a bunch of stuff from the kitchen/living room moved in with my warm plants temporarily the other day. Or so I thought... the project is taking much longer than expected, and I just noticed that they'd been in there for over two weeks. Last night around midnight...

    Nice show before succulent phase

Decided to get some of my larger pings for pictures. Starting from 12 o'clock and going clockwise we have P. Titan, P. moranensis x agnata, P. pirhoutte and P. agnata. P. agnata has been a bit of a frustrating experience... it's the oldest of my pings yet it is one that has not flowered yet.

What is happening to my pings?

I only have about 5 months experience with pings, so I'm new to them. I have a couple that are entering the succulent phase, and don't look to well. My media is sand/vermiculite/perlite/peat in equal parts, with a topping of 1" of APS. Under 4 t8's 16 hours a day, with the rest of my pings...

    Very confused... need help/opinions.

I wanted to hold off seeking help to see if they would recover by themselves first, but things aren’t looking up and I am now pretty confused. This is regarding my two S. ‘Judith Hindle’ clones. I got them last year in the fall and they did fine. They went into dormancy and came out with no...

    Early June blooms

Aloinopsis malherbei If you buy one of these from Lowe's (usually mislabeled "Titanopsis calcarea" see bottom entry) NEVER EVER, EVER NEVER water this plant directly!
