I know it's late in the season, but with the weather beginning to cool off in the Mid-Atlantic US (a great time for shipping, btw), thoughts turn to the greenhouse and ...
Holy excrement, how am I going to fit all of my up-potted Sarracenia and their associated extra divisions inside for the...
Hi
I have the following to trade for established plants of N. gracilis (any form) and/or N. ampullaria (any form).
Drosera menziesii subsp. menziesii (dormant tubers)
Drosera abberans 'Pyrete Ranges, Victoria, Aust.' (dormant tubers)
Drosera cistiflora pink flower (as summer dormant roots)...
Does anyone know how long it takes a "typical" regia to go from seed to a mature flowering plant in its natural habitat? Is it usually significantly different when the plant is grown "under glass"? Also, I'm wondering if I can store regia pollen in the fridge and, if I can, how long will it last?
Hi all!
I'm interested in expanding my Drosera regia gene pool and have plants from two different sources that I would like to trade out. PM me and we'll discuss sources. I'm interested in trading 1-for-1. I also have some small starters if anyone has anything else comparable they'd like to...
Greetings all,
I am procrastinating right now and avoiding responsibility for just a few more minutes so I thought I would make a list of some of the carnivorous plants I think are best to start with- a long with some comments. This list is meant to be pretty general and is perhaps USA centric...
Hi everyone. I'm looking to expand my collection a bit. Here is a list of plants that I am looking for:
D. villosa
D. x corinthiaca
D. regia 'Big Easy'
D. hilaris
D. schwackei
D. longiscapa
D. kaieteurensis
I'm also interested in any other hybrids and species that I do not have. No D...
.and here I add some pictures of today, mostly new cultures:
drosera falconeri, still without root system, but flowering already
drosera montana var. montana "Botumirin'
drosera sp. 'Auyan Tepui' on semi-liquid gel (some dews grow much faster this way)
drosera madagascariensis. Don't know...
- D. schizandra - I included one in the 'Sisters' combo but based on this request - here's another ...
My 2 cents (fwiw) - I've grown a variety of dews. D. regia is an impressive plant and obviously earned the nickname as the king. However, based on sheer impressiveness, I don't think D. regia...
Drosera graomogolensis Itacambira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This is one of the easier to grow and propagate South American species. Growing them long term (3+ years) is a little tricky though. I recommend you keep plenty of backups from leaf cuttings. This is certainly one of the most attractive...
One ugly to start that field of uglies y'all have been dreaming of. It is seed grown, not a clone.
You will receive one ugly of my choice shoved in a 50ml tube with a layer of jello. Of course, you will get the ugliest one.
$6.50 shipping. And an additional $20 Jencare fee for Bigbella...
One fugly up for adoption. It has been growing under very clean conditions and therefore one might want to acclimate it to dirtier conditions upon receipt. Unless of course, you live in a bubble.
Shipped potted. Leaves are 2-3''.
$6.50 shipping. And an additional $20 Jencare fee for...
So we all know that CPs require some extra care over most other types of plants. I got invited to go on a trip around June, when I am having my birthday and taking a vacation from work. Problem is that my plants require a certain routine and a lot of space, so I can hardly take them with me like...
Some times newer and better techniques come along. I will attempt to take root cuttings from my D. regia some day and was wondering what was the best way to do this. Media / Floatting / Light / Temps etc. Which is the best old new way to accomplish this. Step by step instructions are very...
I received a few inquires about how I germinated D.Regia seeds on compost. This was my first attempt at growing what I affectionately call the "uglies". They are by no means a plant I like, I am just an equal opportunity germinator. I read a couple of threads on other's experiences germinating...
My heli tank is getting overrun. It's time to divide, get rid of multiples, or buy a second tank...
Here's what I have...
H. heterodoxa
H. minor
H. pulchella
H. heterodoxa x ionasii
H. heterodoxa x minor
H. heterodoxa x minor (older wistuba stock)
All are making adult pitchers, size of the...
I thought some hairy parasite had gotten past my defenses and latched itself onto the backside of my sprouts. However, upon closer inspection it would appear the sprouts are sending out a real root. It is black hairy and has a red tip heading straight for the compost. Can someone please confirm...
