I have 2 Sarrs (1 hitchhiking sundew) that I did not have the energy to repot. I will be out and about soon so if you are a new member and would like these plants please let me know quickly so that I can drop them in the mail today.
Just asking for $8 to cover shipping with tracking number.
In June of 2011 I bought my first Cephalotus follicularis; the so-called "vigorous" clone from D. Hastings. I knew little about the care and cultivation of this mysterious species, but as is my way, I sought every snippet of information available to help me forge a plan for its care. This is the...
I just got my first 2 sundews a few days ago! They are doing well and already have new leaves unfolding. I am just starting to see big dew drops on the leaves. They are under intense light sitting in a little tray of water. They are beautiful! I may feed them soon.
I love this spatulata! It has...
I have three D rotundafolia between 1/2" and 1 1/4" that I have had for about 6 weeks. I was told or read, I don't remember which, to keep them on Sphagnum moss. They are all doing well and showing new growth. However, I am wondering if this is the right medium. It is probably fine but would...
Hey guys,
I don't buy new plants often, since space for me is pretty limited, but I did just order a N. sibuyanensis. It's one I've wanted for a while now, and I was very excited when it showed up! To be honest, though, I'm a bit disappointed in the condition it came in. I'm sure I can...
I've got some new sundews on the way, and since I've only been growing Nepenthes for the last few years, I don't have any peat to repot with. The thing is, the last few times I've looked at peat in Home Depot or Lowe's, it was the Miracle Gro brand. And unless I'm mistaken, it had fertilizer...
I have a tray of nep seedlings that i have some small plants with very small pitchers and now i am getting more seedlings starting to germinate right next to the older plants. I am wondering how big do the seedlings need to be before you can separate them out to allow them to grow with competition.
Thought I'd start a new thread since I just got a bunch of new Nepenthes with a veitchi k on the way and a veitchi candy striped not too far behind.
Heres some pics of the HL chamber with its new fogger which hopefully won't die... as you can see its gotten pretty jam packed so if anyone knows...
I've had this for many years, the last repot was in the ummm mid to late 1990's LOL

Backside, better to show her paw's with :-))

In an effort to repot a bunch of plants, I miscalculated the amount of live moss necessary to "do it up right"; for which I blame public school and the larger collapse of the American educational system . . .
If any should have some available please drop me a line. I am sure that we could come...
I need to break up and repot my typical Cephalotus Follicularis. (This is a good way to make me do it. LOL)
I will send a small division which may or may not have roots.
This is a great plant that really makes mounds of pitchers.
Starting bid $5.00
I will pay shipping.

Starting bid $10, asking $4 for shipping. This is a great DVD for beginners..

After I gave all my remaining neps a repot, I decided to move them all outside for the time being since its been so nice out. I was really concerned about them getting burnt but so far if anything they look even better than they did before!
The whole rack (sarrs and my darlingtonia are on the...
My N. x 'Ventrata' got a bit too dry, dried out completely, despite the high humidity in the terrarium. The mix doesn't hold water at all... It's like some weird dusty stuff that just drains water right through it, with lots of bark mixed in. Going to repot it in some sphagnum, I have enough to...

I set up 2 containers for the ping collection and put them on the grow rack outside, underneath a container of Sarracenias. I also set up 1 ½ containers for the pygmy sundews. Then I set up the 10 gallon tank for the U. gibba / Aldrovanda. It doesn’t look like the U. gibba did too well...
This will be my thread for the progress of my Sarracenias and such. Some of you might remember I posted this pic asking for help if I should repot the S. rubra gulfensis in the back left. I gave it a "hair cut" instead per everyone's recomendations.

I got this plant 4-6 months ago and it has not done much of anything for me. It looks very much like it did when I first received the plant; it has put out a few leaves but has not even thought about inflating a pitcher.
Conditions: Grown in a basement with a variety of Neps and Heliamphora...
A while back I placed an order with a nursery in Texas. I don't like getting plants there but sometimes I do because what I'm looking for isn't available anywhere else. I ordered two plants. An N. bicalcarata giant Sarawak and an N. campanulata. The bical died on me. It started going down...
The Sarracenia alata that I'm taking care of for as a NASC grower are doing quite well. With this early warm weather, most are putting out new growth, making it a great time to repot the seedlings to give them some more room.

Is this root rot or is the vine just wooding over?
The lower part that turned black is starting to get a woody texture. Please tell me this is no root rot! The basals seem fine. Is this root rot? :(
It's spreading up towards the green leaves, no leaves are showing any blackness yet. The soil...
