I find that these two genus' are the only ones where repotting is my favorite part of growing them. :-O
Sort of a mess of U. calycifida and what Bobz informed me is quite likely G. flexuosa as opposed to the G. violacea "Giant"
Think it's time to repot...
And take some...
I am about to repot some of my plants that have outgrown the 3 inch pots they originally came in. I have quite a few larger net pots I was considering repotting them into to increase drainage and aeration. Does anybody do this? If so could you share with me a good soil mix that you use in this...
I'm worried about my N. ventricosa. It doesn't appear to be doing well. But it never does this time of year, I guess. Maybe because it's near the heater, even though it doesn't blow on it. I assume a repot would help.
But I have a basal, too. I was thinking I'd have to pot the mama plant...
I think the plant is a Red Bug. It was kind of nice out today, so I took a couple pots out to trim dead parts off like I should have done months ago. I noticed new growth on some VFTs, and a flower stalk starting on one Sarr. Then I got to my one pot that has two (or probably three or more...
So, I had another thread that I put pics of my plants in, but I didn't like the thread title and didn't know how to change the thread title, thus the new thread. Anyway, here's some newer pics of SOME of my plants, with more to come. Hope all can enjoy

Trying U. gibba in my fish tank...
Hi!
So I've been interested in carnivorous plants for a while now and have been browsing this forum and Youtube for a couple of weeks.
And...
Today I bought my first plants! :-O
I am wondering if I need to repot the Drosera's and the Sarracenia?
When I do, can I use a base of 1/3...
So, my HOA hired a company to come out and mulch the area. Instead of moving my potted nepenthes, they decided to dump the mulch all over my plants.:censor: After some research, I am concerned that the mulch may contain properties that may be toxic to my plants. I’ve removed the 2+ inches of...
Hey everyone,
Its common knowledge here that Cephaloti have the ability to die back to seemingly nothing only to come back several months later, often with a vengeance. However, mine has gone through its own tale of woe, and I'd like to know what you guys think. I just declared it "dead"...
Beyond Beginner's Information: Insider's Insight
This was originally written for my friend whose interest is piqued in Carnivorous Plants. I've worked very hard on this, but I don't doubt that perhaps I've forgotten anything meaningful or gotten something wrong. Please correct, or add other...
Hi everyone,
Here is my experience with repotting Byblis species. The key is to keep the ENTIRE root ball intact to minimise stress to the plants.
Ideally, pots that are 4" and larger are more suitable for B. guehoi as it seems to encourage branching. Cheers!

For the ones in the...
I bought a ton of clear Rand Aircone pots recently with repotting my pings in mind. I know they probably wont benefit from it TOO much, but they look pretty darn snazzy. :) I went with an all mineral media, of about 2:1:1 Aps, coarse sand, and pumice, with added Iron Oxide, and topped most with...
uuggghhhh... So out of curiosity, I uprooted a few of my declining pings to take a look at their roots... And yeah. THERE ARE NO ROOTS. Just lots and lots of $(@&$(:censor: fungus gnat larvae. Son of a... SO.. Any pointers on eradicating these little buggers? I'm going to repot EVERYTHING here...
For trade: Drosera Binata Plantlets
Hey guys.
Just repotted a bunch of leaf/ root cuttings that I started a few months ago and I really don't want to repot the rest... So if anyone's interested I have a clump of over 15 Drosera Binata plantlets for trade. If anyone shows interest then I will...
Some pics of the few dews I still have...
d. adelae... I really need to repot this guy, but at this point, don't even know were to begin. The mother plant is about 2 years old.
d. scorpiodes... adults in the back. Last fall I plugged in a bunch of gemmae. Should have a bunch to give away...
Hey terraforum members,
Yesterday I bought a new bag of peat moss and perlite from home depot, in order to re-pot my venus flytrap, and my three saracenia species. After mixing up the recipes per The Savage Garden, I realized that both bags of media were made by Miracle Gro. So, it looks like...
Hey everyone! Long time no see!
Anyways, I've sort of left my plants alone for a while now. Recently, I took the time to feed, prune, and repot a number of my plants.... they were in desperate need of some TLC. When feeding my D. nitidula x pulchella, I noticed something very strange indeed...
I have bought 3 sarracenia plants from a nursery in Devon, UK, they should turn up today or tomorrow. This is my question, should i repot them or wait for the autum and winter to pass and repot in January and feb time before they start coming round for spring?
If the pots are big enough i will...
Still going to use this for droseras.. but I decided to use it mainly for cephs. Had to repot one, started using live LFS heads as top dressing, and just went nuts. I'll just add the dews later in the fall. Added a few ivy cuttings as well. In due time, this tank will be looking good.
Sorry...
These are two plants started from seed that I've had my eye on all year. I finally decided to uproot and repot them into deeper pots of their own and set them in the tray I have designated as evaluation plants. These photos were taken immediately after repotting, so the plants don't look their...
