How to germinate mimosa pudica seeds

Hi, I got some Mimosa seeds coming, and i was wondering how to sprout them. I couldn't find much on growing them except that you soak them in warm water. I also read that once they're out of their seedling stage then they're really easy to grow. Do they need hight humidity? High light? Thank you!

    Why vft's?

Why do you grow VFT's ? Post your reasons! I guess I do because they exhibit some unique characteristics (for plants). 1) The traps move to catch food . (other plants move, eg Mimosa Pudica - Sensitive plant, but this moves as a defence, not to catch food) 2) They can digest protien and...

    Sensitive plant repotting

I have a cople of Mimosa Pudicas I have been growing in three inch pots for about three months since germination. The leaves on one started yellowing; and since I knew the lighting condition and water were o.k., I felt that maybe they were root bind. Boy was I right! I know the roots don't...

    I need help!

It's been a day less than a week since I planted my different varieties of sundew seeds. However, it has now (too late unfortunately) come to my attention that my cat may have peed in the sand before I mixed it with the peat. I don't know this for sure, because I thought the peeing may have been...

    Unanswered Dormancy Question

There doesn't seem to be too many people answering people's questions in the huge dormancy and hibernation topic. Maybe it was intendedp primarily for read only? Anywho, I posted this in there, and got no answer, so I thought I'd post it as a seperate topic since dormancy time is now. Here's my...

    Bonsai Trees

Ok, maybe not ANY tree! But I'm wondering, if I grow one of my mimosa trees...without being allowed to grow to full size, will the leaves and flowers still bloom, and could I effectively keep it trimmed and growing in my terrarium, essentially as a "bonsai tree"?

Hey all Where to start?? I guess I should start with letting you know how difficult it is just to make this posting. I'm on a computer that has the full 16 colours and what I'm sure is an old 486 processor. The connection is sooo bad, I waited about 3 mins for this page to download and when it...

    Why my Mimosa stoped growing.

Hi. I grow Mimosa from seeds. I have about 15 of them. all of them (some of them outside, and some in a terrarium) stoped growing, after they've opened there 5th leaf set. They grew so fast, and suddenly stopped (they don't grow for 3 weeks...). Any one knows why?

Just wanted to let you all know that I have assimilated the mimosa topic into the misc plant topic. To condense things some and maybe make room for something new?

    Is this a Mimosa seedling?

The tray of seeds I had just about given up on but decided to just sit in front of a windowsill has developed a seedling. It doesn't look like what a Mimosa plant looks like, but could it be an early stage? It has two leaves, both of which are oval-shaped. Is this what a very young seedling...
