Hello,
Today I went on a surprise trip to a local nursery in Northern California. The plants were absolutely spectacular! I thought I would share some pictures:
A mess of Sarracenia flava and a few Drosera binata in the outdoor bog gardens.
Another bog pocket with various carnivores...
Greetings all,
I am procrastinating right now and avoiding responsibility for just a few more minutes so I thought I would make a list of some of the carnivorous plants I think are best to start with- a long with some comments. This list is meant to be pretty general and is perhaps USA centric...
Hi all,
My name is Robert and I've only fairly recently returned to the CP hobby ( or should I say ADDICTION?). As an adolescent I became pretty obsessed with CPs and had quite a decent collection considering that when I started, there was only one online nursery and they only sold one species...
Hi all, I am acquiring a N. spathulata x hamata seedling and it should be here any day now, I can't wait! My question is do you think I should acclimate it to conditions outside here in Omaha, Ne for the warmer months or grow it under lights in my basement? The conditions outside are currently...
Just received some awesome new plants - N. bellii x aristo and N. muluensis x lowii from a certain vendor in NY, and an N. hamata AW 3 from another vendor. All the plants look fantastic.
My question is about the bellii x aristo - I have it growing in my highland growspace which ranges between...

This has turned out to be one of the easiest, fastest growing and most beautiful Neps I have had so far. I have mine parked next to a similar sized hamata and favor neither over the other. The pitcher body is beautifully marked and the peristome is close to the hamata. The plant I have is still...
Hello everybody!
Been a long time since I have posted anything on here!
Just figured I would show you my hamata hybrid, singalana x hamata.
At the moment this is the closest thing I have to a hamata!
Been so long, I haven't been in touch with anyone on here. Is anyone else growing this?
Jeff

I recently mentioned that my second hamata just produced a dud pitcher and the plant growth slowed way down. It turns out that the NZ sphagnum became too compacted and caused the roots to rot away. The tap root is still long and healthy looking and there is no foliage die-back so I re-potted...
Hello all, I am curious if anyone here grows both the BE N. hamata 3495 as well as the N. hamata 3380. I am aware that the 3380 is a confirmed male and I am not sure of the 3495's sex. Trying to find out the differences between the two
I have a 3495 clone coming this week which is the main...

As some of you know, my room gets very hot during the summer and I need to use an AC to keep my
plants at a good temp. However we are no longer able to afford the price of cooling so I need to
reduce the power bill by getting rid of my my AC. Sadly, that means I can no longer grow HLers because...
My first hamata is changing producing less curvy, larger and longer leaves. I had some trouble with it producing dud pitchers, proto-tendrils, at the end of the leaves that didn't extend and the tiny pitchers would turn brown. I traced it to lack of water, I guess I was over obsessing about...
- Nepenthes hamata - a new 3-leaf tip cutting from one of the vining growth points on my mature parent plant. I will cut the vine just prior to shipping. There are many tutorials on rooting Nepenthes if you are unfamiliar with the process - here's one.
Here's a pic of the vine that I will cut...
