I have a cut basal of lowii x boschiana starting to send out roots, a nep Caesar, and typical cephs with adult pitchers up for trade. I would like to hold onto the cephs till they get larger. I am looking primarily for nepenthes hybrids with lowii in them but let me know if you have something of...
My robcantleyi has been bothering a bit lately so today I decided to get a little aggressive with it. It made a gnarled leaf about two leaves ago which I didn't want to cut off because I'm usually of the mindset that if its green you shouldn't mess with it. The next leaf developed fine but this...
For a few years now I have been losing neps quite regulary where the roots on examining are very wirey black and dead. And often the dieback extends into the base of the plant. Healthy nep roots I find are black, thicker with micro hairs on them and white caps to the ends.
I keep losing plants...
Edit: Pics are in post #6
I have been lucky to win a couple giveaways recently and that calls for a giveaway. U.S. only please. There will be one winner of a little assortment including a plug of D. capensis x spatulata and D. prolifera, flowering size D. spatuwhatisit, and a D. graomogolensis...
After graduating college and taking a full-time job recently, I decided to get serious about growing plants again! My office has way more desk space than I need, so I figured I would start a little grow op! For lighting, I chose a 4-bulb, 2ft T5HO fixture from Apollo Horticulture. It comes with...
I have a purple pitcher plant in full sun, small tray of water and 3x3x4 inch pot. After it got here, most of the pitchers where dead so I cut it back save one. It put out two new ones since I had it, but they are only half the size of the old one and are green rather than red. Should it be...
Over the last week my plants have started to look like crap. I have also noticed the newest leafs are coming in very small. I feed the plants once a week with crumbled freeze dried blood worms. I also replace water every day with distilled. Plants get full sun from 7am to 1. Temps have been in...
I received my Heliamphora nutans x ionasii from a great friend, on February 24 of this year. As you can see in the picture the size, shape and color is just gorgeous.
The medium consists of LFS & Cypress mulch and I feed it these fish pellets:
I put a plastic bag over it, with a light...
If you can see the photo, there is some serious discoloration. This leaf specifically is the worst off, but all of them have this problem. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong. Today I cut off all the dead leaves and flushed out the soil with pure water to get out anything that...
I'm paying forward a giveaway the Pyro did years ago. I expect the winners to do the same when the time comes. Plants have leaves about 2.5-3.5 inches long and are well rooted. They should fit in a small flat rate box but I may determine it safer to use a larger box so shipping will be $5.35 to...
I'm sure at some point in this hobby you've had four CFLs screwed into four clamp lights plugged into one power strip plugged into one timer. It gets unwieldy fast. I solved that problem for myself a while back, and while putting together another lighting chain today I realized someone on the...
My technological situation dictates that embedding a photo at this time is not going to happen. I'll try to do it later or if you're seriously interested, I can email it.
I am relocating my bog garden and want to make some room. I have a few of these plants available and at least one is...
I was looking for another supplier as the current RO water I was buying was a rip-off. So, to cut the story short I bought a Hanna TDS1 that has been factory calibrated which includes a certificate etc etc.
The expensive RO water gave a reading of 003 on the TDS meter, if this is correct then...

Hey Everyone:
I am offering, on behalf of the NECPS, a large flat rate box's worth of Nepenthes x ventrata and Nepenthes 'Miranda' cuttings. I cut these yesterday (Friday, April 12, 2014) afternoon at UNH's greenhouse for the NECPS. Dave S., our President, elected to share the wealth and have...

Some of my N. X ventrata's older lower leaves we're yellowing recently so I cut them off when they started to brown. I just noticed this morning that the whole stem is now turning brown from the bottom up to where the topmost leaf was cut off.
It has had a small brown patch on the stem from...
I have decided to potentially part with a Nepenthes x Wrigleyana to make more room. I am interested in trading for Sarracenia; I have lots of grow space for the them and little grow space for Nepenthes.
I received this particular plant from Christian James last year. It has grown well with...
This is how I've been growing this plant that I got at the 2013 NECPS show.
I noticed it had a white cottony thing on it and i immediately pulled it off and squashed it without finding out what it was. Here is what was left.
It went from the leaf to the pitcher. Any ideas what I might be...
