Hi, I'm new here. I grow Nepenthes, Drosera and Dionaea on windowsills and outdoor decks in a warm-temperate climate. I'm only a couple of years in but have found my stride succeeding with these plants, so I really hope to add to my collection.
Now, a question about this forum: Even though I...
So I have been wondering for a while why more people don't mix Nepenthes and Utrics? I understand that there are some very weedy utricularias out there that may be very hard to control but in a large nepenthes pot, with the right terrestrial variety, away from any small plants or seedlings that...
My ventrata is out of control and I probably need to cut it... The longest vine would probably be about 4ft long if you laid it out flat, however I don't want to cut that one. I'd rather cut some that are hitting the walls of the greenhouse and producing bent leaves because of it. Training the...
I don't know who to give credit to, but thank you.
Someone has mapped out Heli land for google maps
Takes a bit to get the controls down, but once you do, you can zoom around and see the relative elevations
For me, it works much better in Firefox then IE
enjoy the flight :-)

I have a hardened H. minor, that grows happily outside of a terrarium and without any special humidity or temperature control. I have been growing it on a windowsill and last time I repotted I took a division off it and put it under one of my lamps, on my open grow shelf.
Here's a comparison...
Greenhouse Monitoring & Control with a Microcontroller called Arduino: My experiences
Hello,
Sorry for not doing a separate forum post (too much time):

Hi,
Just a quick poll/questions about what humidity controller you use in your terrarium and experiences about it. I currently use Lucky Reptile Humidity Control II. I've had it for about 5 years now and never questioned whether it's accurate or not. Recently I started measuring the inside...
Has anyone ever managed to get algae or some crawling nasty into their intestines? I'm pretty resilient but two days ago I came from the plant room and consumed a Klondike bar licking the runny ice cream from my fingers as I went. I hope you are able to see the humor in this rather than being...
Suspect there might still be some snow scale eggs in on of my nepenthes soil can I just spray all my plants or just neighboring plants soil with some neem oil and RO water mixed? I would rather go the natural way with neem. Thanks for answers!
heres a video of my tank the lots of snow scales...
I noticed the other day that the tip of an immature pitcher on one of my purps had a little kink in it. Upon closer inspection I saw a couple of aphids hiding in it which I removed. I closely inspected the plant, found a few more which I also manually removed. That plant was pretty far along in...
How long will it be before they control cp seed exchange?
"As you might suspect, this move is the "final solution" of Monsanto, DuPont and other seed-domination corporations who have long admitted their goal is the complete domination of all seeds and crops grown on the planet. By criminalizing...

This looks like it also may be good for dealing with aphids, since...
I come to TF today and everything is centered. My enter text box for the chat, all my PM's, all the posts in the forums. It seems that the only placeIi can control left, right or center is in the body of a post that I am writing. I have tried logging out and clearing my cookies/cache with no...
Hello All!
I've made a few posts here and there over the last year but I figured it was finally time to (re)introduce myself. My name is Matt and I'm a carnivorous plant enthusiast from central Pennsylvania. Some may remember me from quite a while ago in my teenage and early college years...
All purpose thread for all the cultures I have in the works. Most of my cultures are Nepenthes, but I should have a couple of everything...In the last two months, I have amassed nearly 100 cultures. I have listed the media in cases where it is not clear. Here are a few of the cute sprouts...
Hey everyone here are some pics of my new highland chamber.
I love this chamber because I can control the temp to whatever I like.
Day time temps are: 75-77F Night time cools down to 55-60D
Light: 6 t5 hydro lights
Humidity is good, its around 60% to 80%
It has a misting and fogging system...
Howdy. I suddenly have an aphid infestation (must have gotten it from some new plants I ordered back in November) in my indoor terrarium. They are mostly going for my Heliamphora but I suspect everything in my terrarium may have a bite or two.
What is the best aphid control I can use in an...
Ive been working hard the past few days setting up a new highland chamber.. Will be posting pics some.
I can control the temps to anything that I want which is awesome.. Has anyone grown nepenthes burbidgeae x edwardsiana? For a while? Some people say this plant is easy.. Then others say it can...
Hi guys,
I currently keep my CPs in my terrarium (10g tank with peat/sand/coir mix) or my sunny windowsill. I am planning on putting a plant rack together to give me more space, better control, and overall convenience. The rack I'm looking at is a wire shelf found here. I'd like to confine all...
I don't know if this topic has been covered before on this forum. But I though I would share the idea!
I was looking for a simple drip system to water my darlingtonia's without flooding my other plants.
The system I came up with was inexpensive, simple, the water is kept cool.
I came up with...
