I have several baby cephalotuses (cephaloti?) from leaf cuttings, about 6 months old or so and just beginning to send out baby pitchers. I'd like to grow them the way I grow "mom," which is in a square pot with a peat and perlite mix. The thing is, their roots are kind of suspended in live...
I'm working on making a "cove" type area with a slope to grow some Ceph's on and I was thinking some of the natural plants that grow with Ceph's would look good.
They would need to stay under 12" tall and be able to survive 40ish% humidity as this project will be under T5 lights without a top...
Seedgrown Cephalotus from selfed 'Hummer's Giant' seed harvested & planted in the fall of 2008.
I had been giving away or trading seeds from my HG cephs for a few years. At the end of the 2008 giveaway, I had a few seeds leftover (not enough for a packet) and decided to plant them. About half...
I have lots of Sarracenia divisions, lots of Pings, a few Neps (established rooted cuttings), several Heli established divisions, several established Cephs from cuttings.
Looking for less common Helis, Pings, Highland Neps, Utrics (larger, showier ones)
check out my grow list.
I need to ask for some advice. There is a large, popular carnivorous plant nursery based in Australia that sells carnivorous plants (rooted, and having been grown in media for a while ) as well as tissue culture carnivorous plants (shipped directly in the tissue culture media). I wanted to...
Just saying hello. You will have guessed my name is Roger.
I live in England.
I am mainly interested in VFT's but I have also got three Cephalotus plants and some Cephs growing from seeds.
Roger
I have several divisions of S. flava var. ornata. Given enough light, this variety of flava will reward you with intense veining throughout the pitchers. I have about four mature, flowering sized divisions available. I'm looking for CPs not on my growlist. Let me know if interested.
please check my grow list for Pings &/or Helis NOT listed only.
I have many Pings for trade & several H. heterodoxa & H. minor. Also many Sarrs, Cephs, and a few Neps.
PM me. cheers
So, I've had this for a while now and could really never get it to do much. We talked about top watering, not top watering, cooler temps, warmer temps... I just could never get it to do more than one or 2 leaves and then those die off... Here is what I have going as of right now.
I have it...
Hi Everyone. I have an question for everyone. For all of you who take cuttings of Nepenthes, cephs, etc.... I know that the cloning gel is way better than the powder stuff. I've only ever used the Gel and with great results. I've only ever used Olivia's cloning gel. That stuff works great...
I'm looking to get some Cephalotus seed for a project I'm working on. I've got a couple of small cephs and was wondering if it still takes years after a ceph produces mature pitchers before it will flower? Does anyone know the effect of red or blue spectrum lights on flowering of Cephalotus...
When it comes to Nepenthes (and Heli's and Cephs for that matter), should I be adjusting the photoperiod about now down from 16 hours to say 12 hours? How long and during what months are people adjusting their photo periods for these plants? This is my first winter with CP's.
I just got a Cephalotus on Thursday and today I notice the older leaves and pitchers are yellowing. I know Neps do this when they get moved to a new home so is it common for Cephs too?
Here's how it looks today:
I'm in desperate need to make room in my grow area for other plants. As a result, I'm going to part with just about my entire ping collection. That's 2 trays worth of pings, many with multiple plants per pot. I'd love to trade the entire collection for neps, cephs, or heli's.
While I may decide...
Well folks, I've got some changes coming up in my professional life that are going to keep me from having much time to take care of my plants. I'm trying to consolidate my collection down to a few plants so that I can have time to both take care of them and enjoy them. As a result, I'm getting...
I have read that Cephs can be sensitive so i did ad some pics off my Ceph to see iff it need a repot the moss is starting to grow over it more and more :p
What do you think ?
I'm trading away a significant portion of my propagation stash of pings. I'm only looking for Neps, Cephs, and Heli's. I'm willing to trade multiple pings for one plant depending on value. Thanks!
This is only a partial list and picture of what may be available (these are just what I have...
Yep, I'm trading away an orchid and a bromeliad. I haven't the first clue about how to properly grow either one of them, as you may be able to see. The Orchid has produced nice leaves, but I managed to kill all the flowers. The bromeliad... *shrug*. House plants are not my thing.
