Ok I know this is a bit an odd post / LOL
But I'm bored & just thought I'd share
Might actually be very helpful to people who grow Pings indoors
I collect pill/saw bugs out of my compost pile to feed to my Neps & noticed that they don't live for very long if not in moist soil & that they dry...
How does one get rid of soft brown scale on a Sarracenia? Mine is a S. purpurea. I know they are sensitive to contamination so I'm afraid to try a spray or a systemic insecticide. On my non-carnivores, I have had good luck with fish emulsion, but I am pretty sure I don't want to spray that on...

The plants I got from Travis and Liz are doing great (Thanks again guys!) My ventrata has new pitchers forming like crazy, and some of the dews are catching unsuspecting bugs.
So, I've lost several sars over the summer, and others that I haven't lost look pretty bad. Not all of them, but a lot of them do, and I can't figure out what is going on. I'm super busy with school and work, but I'm spending time out there every chance I get repotting them all, thinking that...
I dont know my spiders very well :blush:the only one i can id is the brown recluse:0o:, ive seen too many bad wound pics not to learn how to id it.
These are all over my yard this one is right beside the door , i figure it will stop some of the stink bugs from getting in , if it eats them LOL.
I just got 12 new rafflesiana var. alata from Thailand. They are small, but since you don't see too many of these, and because they are so spectacular, I am sharing :)
hi, i found some interesting bugs in local surface water but i cant find out what they are.
The biggest ones (adults?) are maybe 1-1.5mm large.
They have a flat underside and rounded upside, like tiny ladybugs.
Not sure how many legs they have or if they are even legs, but they got small moving...
Hi all. Okay, the particular tank this ping was in is set up in my family room. It has been established for close to a year now with pings, sundews, orchids and during the winter a small nep (or 2).
Last night I noticed one of my pings had been attacked by something. It was the only plant...
i'm pretty new to the CP arena and i need some help!!

I just wanted to share some pictures of this awesome sundew that is little-known and little-grown in the US.
The reason I like it is because of it's large size and superior trapping ability--it can catch houseflies with ease :0o: This sundew catches more than a VFT! A forest of them is...
As you may well know, I torture my plants something awful. I leave them outside in the scorching San Diego sunshine, and water them once a week (in a cocoa chunk + lfs with some perlite mix) without misting them except for with neem if I see any bugs.
I've bought plants from the U.S. as well...
My N.sanguinea has been outside all summer and growing really well. It is catching a ton of bugs, so much so that it smells really bad. You can smell it within 10 feet of the plant. I wanted to take it inside this week because it was going to exceptionally hot, into the 100's, but not stinking...
