    Soft brown scale

How does one get rid of soft brown scale on a Sarracenia? Mine is a S. purpurea. I know they are sensitive to contamination so I'm afraid to try a spray or a systemic insecticide. On my non-carnivores, I have had good luck with fish emulsion, but I am pretty sure I don't want to spray that on...

    Problems with my sars

So, I've lost several sars over the summer, and others that I haven't lost look pretty bad. Not all of them, but a lot of them do, and I can't figure out what is going on. I'm super busy with school and work, but I'm spending time out there every chance I get repotting them all, thinking that...

hi, i found some interesting bugs in local surface water but i cant find out what they are. The biggest ones (adults?) are maybe 1-1.5mm large. Ping under attack, help

Hi all. Okay, the particular tank this ping was in is set up in my family room. It has been established for close to a year now with pings, sundews, orchids and during the winter a small nep (or 2). Last night I noticed one of my pings had been attacked by something. It was the only plant...

Tribute to Drosera indica "Pale Pink FLower"

I just wanted to share some pictures of this awesome sundew that is little-known and little-grown in the US. The reason I like it is because of it's large size and superior trapping ability--it can catch houseflies with ease :0o: This sundew catches more than a VFT! A forest of them is...

Acclimatizing neps & things to lower humidity

As you may well know, I torture my plants something awful. I leave them outside in the scorching San Diego sunshine, and water them once a week (in a cocoa chunk + lfs with some perlite mix) without misting them except for with neem if I see any bugs. I've bought plants from the U.S. as well...

    Stinky sang

My N.sanguinea has been outside all summer and growing really well. It is catching a ton of bugs, so much so that it smells really bad. You can smell it within 10 feet of the plant.
