I've been feeding a feral female spider (some type of species which makes a funnel type web) over that last couple of months.
She has gotten larger from the flightless fruit flies i have been supplying her with each day.
Over the past few days i have noticed that a male has come knocking...
Been wondering what the ant is doing...making a short and erratic knock on the pitcher?
#maximise the volume to hear clearly.

My Nepenthes Ventrata has suddenly become the center of attention today for a colony of small Ants. They are sucking up the sugar exuded by the nectar glands found on...
Will ant plants do well in the same enclosure as ants? Will their light and humidity requirements interfere with the ant's? I'd like insight for all types of ant plants, especially dischidia.
TF,
I just wanted to share a pic of my VFT's covered completely with water. This happens out in nature so I figure I should do the same taking into account they are growing in a big container having closet 2ft of soil below. The chances of my plants rotting are very unlikely.
I also met with...
Over the past 24 hours, an ant nest has been set up in my terrarium. Turns out my brother had been eating food in his room next to mine and the sugar ants have migrated to my terrarium. They made their way through the ventilation crack at the top and into a pot that was touching the glass. My...

Has anyone ever heard of a pitcher producing slime? It's a very dark green color. It's a new vogelii, and I noticed there was something black inside the pitcher, but I disregarded it until I realized there was more. I tipped the pitcher upside down a few moments ago and this black stuff oozed...

Hello every one seeing at it is the meeting time for the ants around my area I thought I would capture a couple queens and see if I could start a few ant colonies I think it would be a better food source for my plants then the fish I have been feeding them seen as they cannot capture anything...
I bought a VLT about 3 weeks ago. For two weeks I left it outside during the day to get sunlight and catch insects and brought it inside at night to avoid any extreme weather/storms.
It didn't catch or eat anything for two weeks. So I decided to cut a small piece of earthworm to give it...

Greetings. I have a carnivorous plant terrarium that I had growing under growlights on my windowsill. However, about a month or so ago, I noticed ants running through the terrarium. They are not fire ants or black ants. They appear to be regular sugar ants. They are feeding on all the nectar...
So, I received an H. minor "Red" from Ron after the NASC auction. It's producing pitchers close to the size of the ones it came with, but the nectar spoons are TEENY. Like, the size of a teeny ant, as opposed to the size of a small lentil.
Currently it is growing under ~5000 lumens of T5 HO...
one of my N.truncata has grown to a size that is shading half of my windowsill plant and i think its ready to take on some more hardy temperature, which is outside in a shady porch. so I repotted it into a 12 inch diameter wide 18 inch tall pot. so the soil don;t dry out more quickly and can...
The ant got away... bah...
Also, I screwed up the image resizing, so definition may not be stellar. I think I might be starting to get the hang of this, though. Time to get better software than Windows Movie Maker.
A number of things went wrong with this one, so I'm not proud of it, but oh...
