Hiya All-
In this Wistuba page, about half way down, you see a young lady holding a fairly large bical pitcher. My question is, does that plant look about 20" tall and maybe 5-6ft in diameter?
I always thought, that a pitcher that large with a leaf span that wide would normally come from a...

Karnivoren: Die Welt der Fleischfressenden Pflanzen (Carnivores: The World of Meat-Eating Plants) by Thomas Carow is perhaps the most stunning book of images dedicated to carnivorous plants in print; and I don't doubt that Carow had to remove his fair share of leeches in the process, and take...
Here are a couple of images of a young Heliamphora sarracenioides, here producing its first mature pitcher -- a long time in coming. The first photographs show the plant in early November of 2008 or thereabouts; and the second set, from this week:

Just figured I would share a couple pics of the greenhouse neps now that they've had some time to settle in. Unfortunately the daylight hours have been less than ideal, but some stuff is still looking pretty good.
A couple Spectabilis xx Lowii x Ventricosa pitchers.

The first shot is my N. Hamata Wistuba clone 1. The pitcher is about 4 or 5 inches. It's been open for about a week and a half and colored up quickly.
The other two shots are the newest pitcher to open on my N. edwardsiana. It's about an inch or so long. Just opened up about a week ago. In time...
Wistuba Order arrived! :banana2::boogie::banana2:
Potted 'em up!
They are on the shadiest windowsill, and have large-ish holes in their bags.

Hey guys my new hamata just came today. Its a wistuba clone 1. Any tips you guys got besides keeping humidity high will be appreciated. All the pitchers that it came with were black and dead but leaves look healthy. It is currently in a 4 inch pot with live lfs as a top dressing. Thanks...

Here are a few shots of the "new" Heliamphora from August and October, all three as yet undescribed by Wistuba -- Heliamphora species "Angasima," "Akopan," and "Amuri." They've finally "freshened-up" a bit from rough handling by the lowland gorillas of the USPS, and shown some new growth and...
I thought I'd share this picture a little more widely than I usually do as understand these do not occur very often.

I was a bit disappointed about the size. A rather minuscule 1" or so. The plant is a N. ampullaria from...

This is what was on the tag that came with her:

Hey guys,
Here are some updated pics of my plants. :)
N.bicalcarata: the pitcher on the left in the background is a little over an year old. The one in focus is the latest one. This newest one is around the size of a coffee cup...if I may say so. The plant has a diameter of a little over a...
Well, the title pretty much says it all. I'm asking all of you guys here at TerraForums about what Neps I should try to get, now that I have some money!
And it's a great time to buy new Neps - summer is over, I can provide both HL and LL conditions until next summer, and it will give the plants...
I just received shipment of two of three new Heliamphora species from Wistuba on 22 August. They are Heliamphora sp. "Amuri" ("A") and sp. "Akopan" ("B"). Growers in the UK who are familiar with them (at least "A" and "B") seem fairly pleased with their relative ease of cultivation.
The two...
I really cant find any cephs here for a reasonable price so has anyone ordered from Wistuba? They say shipping is a risk that's on you so is it a good idea?
I just got a Nepenthes Hamata (Wistuba, Clone 4)! - But it's lacking a root system. N. Hamata is harder than other neps in my experience; I lost a healthy established plant during the spring of '06.
I would appreciate any advice on rooting a small plantlet.
It's soaking in Superthrive right...
