Hi, my name is Mya and I am currently trying to grow CP's in what is quite possible the worst place to grow them, Las Vegas. :tumbleweed:
I do not have a terrarium set up at the moment but I am going shopping for supplies in a few days and will hopefully have one soon
I mostly grow Nepenthes...
Hi I'm shadow I'm from texas. I'm new to carnivorous plants, but I've read some posts already and they are filled with info. I am going to get some sundews this month or next month.
Sincerely, Shadow:boogie:
Hi all
Built myself a medium sized terrarium about a month ago. So far it seems like the Dorsera I've got in there are loving it.
With the exception of my little D. Adelae. For some reason it has turned super red almost black on the tips of it's new growth and produces no dew :-( The humidity...
Hallo!
I just wanted to share some of my Drosera with everyone. These are some photos of 4 plants in my collection. I've got a couple more which I will post at a later stage.
Enjoy!
My first plant! D. Capensis Or the "Sun Grabber" as I call it. I grow it outside and it grows in a way that...
I'm putting plants in a 260 gallon long aquarium(best deal ever.), using cat litterboxes to have a sphagnum mat along the bottom, a shaded area for a D. adelae(I've heard they like indirect/dappled, but bright, light. If I'm wrong, please correct) and four nepenthes in it(maxima poso, miranda...

...it just takes several days to a few weeks, of repeated applications, every couple days, to do the job. I took my magnifying glass and checked my indoor collection, represented by mostly sundews. I don't see a single one or their remains anymore.
I do wonder if Neem has any affect on pill bugs...
I've had a couple "shots in the arm" with pygmy sundew gemmae and other assorted things, but what was once a thriving collection of butterworts is down to just a few. I am also missing a few basic sundews, like D. adelae, anglica, and aliciae. Here's my current grow list. Those with asterisks I...
Not much to say really. Been into CPs for the past seven years, expanding current collection from a single Lake Poso N. Maxima to include an N. xMiranda, Sanguinae, and Ventricosa(first CP, had to give it up when I moved), as well as a few sundews and an S. Purpurea if I can find a wild one...
Most of us are fascinated by carnivorous plants because they are, well, carnivorous. But I've often wondered what people thought of them before Darwin came along, since they are rather amazing in appearance alone.
For example, here and there in pre-nineteenth-century books, you'll find some...
Hi! I'm offering a freebie to pay the generosity of HCarlton forward. The winner will get a choice of either a nice sized division division of a typical VFT, (which btw survived this past winter in a container, above ground in Zone 6B) or a small pot with several flowering sized Sundews, a mix...
Drosera paradoxa
Now there are two more plants. If you have been thinking you would like to try growing sundews of the petiolaris complex and you have done your homework this might be what you are looking for. Drosera paradoxa is possibly the most forgiving of this group, and also one of the...
Hello everyone.
I recently received some Cinnamon ferns (Osmunda cinnamomea). My goal is to grow them as long-term companion plants with my flyraps, sarracenia, and temperate sundews. I didn't just randomly choose any fern, I had cinnamon fern recommended once as a companion plant for cp's...
Drosera paradoxa
O.k., let's try this again.

Hi,
I read this forum for some years and I thought its time to be more active and start with an introduction.
I started with carnivorous plants about 10 years ago. My first plant was a Drosera capensis and from the very first beginning I was fascinated from these glistening sticky plants...
For each type of carnivorous plant, what is the largest representative?
Venus Fly Trap (Cultivars/Varieties/Forms):
Nepenthes:
Non Tropical Pitchers:
Butterworts:
Sundews:
Bladderworts:

You are bidding on a starter of Utriculara fulva. This is a species that can be grown as a really wet terrestrial. I keep it with my petiolaris group sundews and it seems to enjoy the temperatures, however it needs seasonal changes to induce flowering. A chunk of my parent plant will be...
