Well mostly sarra seeds. I also interested in anything that not my growlist (see yet another growlist). What I have to offer is below.
Cheers.
Drosera
aliciae
aliciae “Veined flowers”
auriculata “Wimmera, Vic.” all red...
My female N. campanulata will be blooming within the next week or two. Does anyone have a male N. campanulata in flower they would like to pollinate her with? No hybrids please, I would like to keep the cross pure. As always you get half the seed. PM me if interested.
Phil
Hello everyone,
Its been awhile since I posted a message. I've been involved in cross-pollinating and germinating various Petiolaris Complex specimens in my collection this past six months. Drosera ordensis has been my choice species, as I've had the fortune of having 2 clones flower at the...
In my highschool greenhouse are about 25-30 orchids, several of which are blooming. I have managed to pollinate several, and they have swollen up with seeds. I know from google a vague procedure for germinating the seeds, and, lucky me, my school has a nice biotechnology lab with sterile...
yeah. I have these two "Byblis liniflora" (ICPS seedbank), but they grow completely different-
They have multiple growth points
they've lived for quite a while (since june)
They have around 10+ flowers open each, one has 12
They don't make seed on their own. They used to (I got about 20) but...
Has anyone tried this cross or grows it? I have both species growing together and is wondering if a hybrid can be made if I pollinate the flowers manually.
Thanks!
I was watering to day and noticed this.
I take it is a flower stalk forming.
So some questions arise as I have never had a Heliamphora flower before. Does it self pollinate, or do you have to use a paint brush to pollinate the flowers?
Any other info about the flowers or germinating seed?
Thanks
Those who have grwon them to flower and produce seed, when you hand pollinate them, do you need two separate plants or would 2 flowers from the same stalk work or can you use the same flower to bring the gametes together?
We have a Passiflora(looks to be P. caerulea) vine growing outside and it is not very big. I'm wondering if it is possible to do a stem cutting off of it. Also, how well do they do on windowsills(hinting at cuttings eventual destination). Not sure what species but it is a common one. Also, is it...
I was at Home Depot today and was noticing the Burpee display of different seed mixes. I saw one for flowers that attract butterflies and hummingirds and thought to myself, "Would it be worthwhile planting this mix near my CP's, particularly the Mexican pings, to attract critters with extra long...
I can't post picture on so I just have to describe in words.
I received them as Pinguicula moranensis ssp. (Mexican ping.) from Sarracenia Northwest.
- They have oval- shaped summer leaves, and they are ginormous.
- They have lilac-colored flowers with very sweet scent, with white throat. I...
Yesterday, I noticed a funny little "ball" in the crown of my D. madagascariensis plant. Today, after it has grown a bit, it is clearly a flower stalk emerging. I am very excited since this is the first flower it has ever made and I've only had it since January. I was wondering if there are any...
I have supposed red and albino D. capensis next to each other. Currently, the red one is sending up a stalk. I know that this species "selfs", but is it possible to pollinate them by hand and produce something else? How would I time it?
Somewhere I asked about the pollination of D. adelae, whether they self or not and the answer came back as requiring two flowers to do so. My plant is on its 3rd flower stalk and I have made no attempt to manually pollinate anything. For the lark of it, though, I took the oldest seed pod and...
I finally got one of these little plants which are not orchids (the plant itself looks more like a Geranium) but they create a slipper like pouch flower about 1-2" in size. I've been searching for them for years and I found it at walmart in bloom today for under $2! This linked image isn't...
Right. So last time I tried to pollinate my campanulata I failed. Chalked it up to inexperience.
This time I tried again, and also my truncata x ventricosa. Three different pollen donors, the whole schpiel.
NONE of the flowers I pollinated are expanding.....however, two that I DIDN'T are...
Is it worth my while to cross pollinate these two plants? And get seeds?
Or will I get seeds at all? My concern is that they might flower themselves to death.
Greetings all,
My Drosera falconeri is sending up a flower spike...Very nice to see, but a bit of a bummer since I son't have another clone of falconeri to cross pollinate with. Does anyone out there have any falconeri pollen that is or will be available. Granted this is probably a long shot in...
Hi all,
I have some male campanulata pollen on reserve from Robin, but I'd like to pollinate at least a few of the flowers with something else, too.
I'd like to try, if I can get it, maxima pollen, jacquelenea pollen (yeah, right) or lowii.
But, even if you don't have these, make me an offer...
