Well, wonders never cease. Two of my D. scorpioides are about to flower!
Is it worth trying to pollinate them? I already got several gemmae, so seeds seem redundant.
Also, my D. binata (multifida extrema?) is flowering...what are the chances that I could cross the two?
Hi guys!
I tried to pollinate the two previous flowers on my P. moranensis, but they haven't given me any seeds, so I guess I'm not doing this right.
The yellow part is the area where there is pollen and the little dome protecting a separate region deeper in the flower is the female part...
Seed Pod development
The best way to explain my question is to give an example.
Take a female N. ventricosa flower.
Pollinate the bottom half of the flower with (for example) N. gracilis and the top half with say N. khasiana.
Once the flower is finished and the ovary/seed pods are starting...
Hi everyone!
I don't think I've seen any of you saying that you have Pinguicula seeds anywhere. Why is that?
My P. moranensis is currently gifting me with a nice purple flower =) and was wondering if I should pollinate it to get seeds I could give to friends who find them nice and cute.
So...
Hey my Drosera Binata Multifida has sent up a flower stalk and I've been told that they don't self pollinate so I was wondering if anyone had another flower opening so that we could either swap pollen or you could give me the pollen then I could give you half the seeds. Or vicea versa. Anything...

Hi everyone!
This is my first message here at Terraforums, and I must say I am glad to have found a nice place to get information and discuss these famous but rather uncommon plants.
So, there's something I would like your input on.
My 2 inches wide, 1 1/4 inch high Drosera Intermedia is...
Here's a pic I took earlier this month of my paradoxa in bloom. It opened its first flower on 6/24/04, and is still going strong. Yesterday the 23rd flower opened and closed, but not before I hand pollinated it. I'm keeping a record of which flowers I hand pollinate, and which ones I do not...
Ok, the seeds were set earlier then I thought, these are crosses between my T and forked form so I don't know what the babies will look like for sure. So far two buds have split open and I must have thousands of seeds so far... So everyone who is interested will eventually get seeds. Everyone...
i dont know if im doing things right or im doing them wrong and stressing them into blooming but i am now on the 4th species(other than pygmies) to bloom. this one is nidiformis and its sending up 2 flower stalks. so is this one self fertile? do i need to pollinate it? do i need a different...
Hi,
I have a pair of S. rubra jonesii in my bog. They both bloomed this spring and so I got to cross pollinate them. That was the first week in May.
Yesterday, I was looking around the bog and noticed that one of the 3 flowers looked brown and dry, so I cut it off. The seed capsule had...
