I tried to germinate CP seeds in test tubes filled with distilled water, using a magnifying glass to easily see when they started to germinate and sprout a root and leaves. I tried tropical and subtropical species, mostly Drosera. I wrote that up a few months ago as CP Water Germination...

Small plants from pullings, less than one inch across, but several months old and growing well.
Looking especially for : Mexican pinguicula, stapelia/Huernia/orbea cuttings
Drosera do really badly in my current set up, and so I'm not really looking for those.
Also, since the plants are so...

If there is anything that I don't have for trade, but you are dying to have, send me a pm and I'll see if I see what I can start propagating for ya. I'm always looking for different clones than what I have, so if you have something I already have on my growlist, send me a...
Just moved all my plants to a new set up by necessity. I am having trouble with plants I never have before. Set up is wire shelf, covered with panda film on four sides, lit by four 2ft t5 bulbs. Plants are in 100% turface watered by tray. Temps are in the mid to high eighties during the day, low...
Hey guys,
About a month ago it looked like my Pinguicula laueana was growing a flower bud (you could see the red coloring), but shortly after it just stopped growing and has since turned brown. Anyone have an idea as to why this has happenend? My guess is it got too hot or I watered it too...
Greetings. I purchased a 10-gallon terrarium to have a Cephalotus, Drosera prolifera, and a Pinguicula 'Pirouette'. The terrarium is 12 inches long and 6 inches wide.
What would be the best option for growlights for this? I'm having difficulty finding bulbs for this
This is the third shelf down ( one from bottom, if you wish) of a mini-growtent placed on the Northwestern side of the Darlingtonia House. The inhabitants appear to be quite comfortable.
For those interested, the display on the thermometer is the root (medium) temperature.
Pinguicula...
I purchased the gemmae of this Pinguicula x (vallisnerifolia x grandiflora) a couple of years ago. This is the first flower I've had on it so far.
Cultivationi exactly the same as all the other hardy Pinguicula I have. An undrained tray of peat/ granite grit with a little Levington's M3 added.
Hey all,
I noticed there's a few of you in here from around the Portland, OR area, so I'll be one more to the party!
Scatterpants and I are good friends and have been feeding each others plant addictions the last few months, particularly in the CP/orchid area.
While he tends to focus more on...
Early last spring ( 2015) I was ordering a couple of hard to find Darlingtonia ( If they are actually as described) and I decided to add Pinguicula vulgaris seed to the order as I hadn't grown the species for many years. Nothing at all happened in the pot last year except for the customary...
Hi guys!
I just this little ping like a week or so. I normally keep track on my new plants and noticed that the leaves of this particular ping is getting brown. I'm wondering if its because of the the lights being too close? I'm using an artificial light that's around 8 inches from the plant...
So I thought I'd start a thread of my recently started and still growing Pinguicula collection. It's modest for now but I could see it getting out of hand since I like them so much. There are pictures I took previously of these butterworts over on my introduction to Terraforums thread if you'd...
This happy little chappy is a self set plant in the live sphagnum of the Darlingtonia 'Othello' tray. Traditionally the first of this species to flower annually.
For those not familiar with the species. the colour on the above is a little washed out as is the norm with photographs of blue...
