Hi all,
I've been into carnivorous plants for a long time and always wanted to grow nepenthes but didn't think it would be realistic since Davis is practically a desert. Last summer I got a 60 or so gallon terrarium at the thrift store and grow lights and started growing some nepenthes, a...

WTB: P. gypsicola
I had a leak in my greenhouse a few weeks ago during a heavy rain and it flooded my Pinguicula trays... I lost quite a few but the one I really need back is P. gypsicola.
Thanks!

I've recently harvested quite a few P. chilensis seeds. These are pretty darn fresh, the last batch I harvested 7 days ago, and the most recent batch I harvested about 2 days ago. In my experience, these are a very easy species to germinate, much like lusitanica. If you're interested in trading...

WTB: WTB: Pinguicula Seeds
For those of you who have a lot of Pings and are good at crossing them, I'd love to be able to buy seeds. I'm looking to get some quick experience raising plants from seed and maybe even use plants for trading to build my collection later.
Let me know your price and...
I was reading around on the forums but haven't really found anything talking about just using one light. I currently only am able to get one light fixture so I'll be going with the Sunblaster T5 HO 6500k light fixture w/ reflector. I'll be using this in my grow tent that's surrounded by mylar to...
Here is a photo of my P. chilensis. You can see some seedlings, that are likely from a seed pod which I forgot to harvest. One of the amazing traits of this plant is that it is completely autogamous!
The flowers of P. chilensis are very short, the stalk can be sessile like mine, or a few cm...
i have switched my
Mexican pinguicula to 100 percent turface several months ago, and I have had issues knowing when to water. This is partially because I thought turface had extremely weak capillary action, but that does not appear to be true.
So the advice I am seeking:
1. What are some of you...

Trip report time!
I went on a trip led by the ever adventurous Ozzy, with a couple of the other NASC members (Ozzy being the serving NASC Prez!). We all met up in Alabama, and started the trip with a few S.alata sites in Southeast Mississippi and worked our way East through Southern Alabama...
So i've searched this site's threads and many google sites to try and come to a clear consensus on substrates, it doesn't seem there is on (Which is ok! there probably will never be ha!). So this isn't exactly a question about "What substrate should I use", since there are tons of topics devoted...

Do Mexican pinguicula tolerate imidicloprid? I have heard they're sensitive to pesticides and fungicides. I have mealy bugs on a few pings. Really weird.
