Over the past few months, I've been getting back into Sarracenias. I haven't kept them for a while and now it seems I've gone a little overboard and ignoring my Nepenthes. :nono: Since I was cleaning up my greenhouse and moving them out to a kiddie pool in full sun, I thought I would share...
Good Evening , I recently wanted to try to get a greenhouse to grow ,:0o:anything from seed CP's preferably, I bout the greenhouse from Craigslist for $65 dollars , thinking it would be a easy fix. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c214/TengoDemencia/imagejpg1_zps67f93b05.jpgI have no experience...
This Arisaema galeatum I have, in the past, kept in the greenhouse overwinter ( UK). This year it was left outside in its 10" pot and it looks like there is no problem. The winter however was a very mild one.
If only it was a bit smaller MrsG may not object as much to me growing them.:nono::-P
I was in the greenhouse and pulled some cacti out to take some shots.
Pachypodium namaquanum - a little over 3 feet. VERY slow growing.
Pachypodium brevicaule
"Tortuga"
Dorstenia gigas
Can anyone name the rest?
This one is recovering from an unhappy Winter.
Since I...
Hi All
Does any one have a Rion GreenHouse? Looking into one, looks strong and say can hold 1100 lbs of show and 80 mph winds.
16 ft long version. Thoughts would be appreciated . Thanks
Jim
For some time now I have been struggling for room in my greenhouses so I took stock of the space I could make available and decided to purchase a small 6ft x 4ft ( 1.8m x 1.2m) polycarbonate greenhouse. This is intended to house my Darlingtonia and the odd bryophyte and /or orchid.
One tree had...
Hi everyone,
We have a male N. truncate blooming in our greenhouse right now and will be collecting pollen for cold storage. We are interested in seeing what prospects there are for a suitable mate. If you are interested in making a truncata hybrid or pure species and have a female Nepenthes...
Hey Everyone:
I am offering, on behalf of the NECPS, a large flat rate box's worth of Nepenthes x ventrata and Nepenthes 'Miranda' cuttings. I cut these yesterday (Friday, April 12, 2014) afternoon at UNH's greenhouse for the NECPS. Dave S., our President, elected to share the wealth and have...
Drosera binata var multifida f. extrema
These die back to the roots for me in the cool winters of Southern California but have resumed growth several weeks ago. Depending on your climate or growing conditions (indoors or greenhouse) they can grow all year round and do not require dormancy...
I have setup a new terrarium and would like to run a mister continuously from 8am-8pm, the nepenthes have well draining soils and get morning sun then filtered from 11am onwards, temps are 23C-25C at night and 24C-32C by day, the reason for the misting time is that I have attached a miniature...
You are bidding on a bunch of Drosera capensis 'Wide leaf form" plants. This is the form that will form a stem and look like a small palm tree. It is also the least weedy of all the capensis forms I grow. What is a bunch? Say half a dozen. They are weedy for me and I need to clean out a...
You are bidding on a bunch of Drosera venusta plants. What is a bunch? Say half a dozen. They are weedy for me and I need to clean out a pot of them before they overtake the greenhouse. Plants will be yanked out ... ummm bare rooted carefully, and packed carefully and mailed to the winner...
I've been lurking around on the forums for a while and am glad to announce I finally got my first CP! I was at my local nursery the other day and was browsing their greenhouse when I discovered this pretty Nepenthes. They said they just got it in a few days ago and I POUNCED on it. Just keep...
Hello everyone! I was thinking about setting up a sort of rack system in front of my window and inclosing it to keep humidity levels high. This would just be for growing highland plants because I have a lowland terrarium. I thought something like a window sill would be perfect because the plants...
One thing I'm always curious about is how everyone else grows their plants. I've only been collecting for a little while, so I've been sort of figuring it out as I go along. Let's see what you've got! Post a picture if possible, describe your lighting, any temperature regulation, where the stuff...
So. 60+mph gusts all day and night yesterday. Almost tornado force. I live on a hill with no tree cover. I'm at work--came home to find my greenhouse up in the air almost vertical. Greenhouse door wrenched open and turned it into a giant polycarb tumbleweed. Lifted off in one piece--with the...

Looking for any terrarium suitable Utricularias. I currently have some multibranched small plants of Pachycentria glauca ssp. maingay available, but could also trade mini orchid divisions, Ceropegia cuttings, or cuttings off my ferns or epiphytes in the greenhouse. Month old pic of the Pachy's...
