I just lost a wonderful, several-year-old palm tree of a D. capensis last month and now am missing it. Rather than a generic form, I would prefer one that has location info (as long as I'm wishing, I'd prefer one of the more unusual locations like Montagu Pass, Palmiet River, Gordons Bay, etc -...

Petunia exserta would seem to have a lot going for it:
1) It's nearly extinct in the wild.
2) It has red flowers--the only naturally occurring ones in its genus.
3) It's hummingbird pollinated--also the only one in it's genus.
4) Bugs stick to the leaves--it's not carnivorous, but at least...
Figured that I would post a few pics of a new pitcher. This plant had an odd sudden die back and was left with a tiny basal about three years ago. Now it is settled in nicely and I can't wait for it to reach uppers as the pitchers are gaining more hairs under the lid and the mouth is starting to...
My Passiflora 'Preciosa' desperately needs to be cut back--I plan to do it Sunday. If anyone can get any use out of some of the cuttings, I can send about 10 nodes (or possibly more, depending on interest). 2 nodes is enough to root a new plant, and they root in water. There's a good chance...
Another grower and I recently made this cross and I received my half this week, so I'd like to give a few away. This should be a pretty nice cross, but it'll be a couple of years until we actually know what they look like. Obviously, I can't guarantee viability, but it's basically free..
Three...

SIDESHOW TURTLES
I love the unusual, and a couple of years ago I bought a group of strange hatchling Red Eared Sliders. They are now 2 years and 3 months old (and over 4 inches). They are natural deformities that I’ve raised up past the sensitive stage. Now they are available to you!
They...
Perhaps a thread on this topic exists? If not, I thought a discussion on which shipping methods are most cost-effective would be in order. If this has been discussed in detail elsewhere, perhaps this should be deleted. If it belongs in a different forum, it should be moved. I'll limit this...
Cuttings giveaway: Brugmansia "Suncrest vulsa". Restricted by climate/conditions
I urgently need to cut back my Brugmansia, and I will not be able to use all the cuttings. So I'd like to offer some of the cuttings in a giveaway.
There are several problems with this. One is that the plant is...
I have a bunch of extra sees that I won't get around to planting this spring. They are from last year, so not all of them will sprout. If you have extra space in your garden, please give the seeds a chance! All I need is a SASE to get the seeds to you. Please send a PM! :D
*Carrot -...
Hello all! This is a great opportunity to upgrade that 5 or even 25gpd system you may own. Or maybe yours isn't operating well anymore. I have upgraded one of my RO systems and so I have this membrane to get rid of rather than sit around and go bad. The membrane is in great working order (my...
I recently found this pot of well started Pinguicula pullings under a rack in the plant room. I'm fairly certain that they're Pinguicula hemiepiphytica - Site 2 #6 but without a label, I can't be sure at this time. I'll split the plants evenly and pick 4 winners at random via the usual giveaway...
I am wondering what the lowest "kill temperature" is for D. filiformis "Florida All Red." If I could keep these plants outside, I would be able to free up a significant amount of greenhouse space at home. I know they don't *need* a dormancy, but if the temps are low enough would they be forced...
I had an earlier giveaway, where I asked for an identification of a seed, which was correctly guessed to be Theobroma cacao. At that point, I had expected a large number of seedlings. Unfortunately, I ran into some problems, and I have fewer than I anticipated. Still, I wanted to post at...
The Carnivorous Plantation in southern Alabama has an opening for a grower/operations manager. Compensation is competetive salary and free use of 1 bedroom apartment on site. The candidate will be responsible for greenhouse and field growth of Sarracenia and Nepenthes. Tissue culture experience...
