Got this the other day from a guy at a farmers market
But the only info I could get from him was "Fern that grows on tree no dirt" & "Keep wet"
So from that & the looks of it I'll say it's an Epiphytic / LOL
I've been GOOGLE imaging Epiphytic Fern
But haven't had any luck finding anything that...

I have ordered this plant by mistake actually, I wouldn't have gotten it if I had read that it was an epiphytic plant. So now I need to know exactly what to do with it. What should I do for soil?
Hey, all. I have several small Cephalotus. I've decided to try a naturalistic terrarium with a lot of epiphytes, a wood/foam back wall, orchids, tillandsia and small bromeliads. Of course I'll still have CP's, but I'll be sticking to Drosera, a few small Nepenthes, Pinguicula and Utricularia...
Hello Friends,
Finally, I've managed to catch my Epidendrum nocturnum in full flower. A rare Florida native epiphytic orchid and as the name implies, it usually opens at sunset and remains open throughout the night for one night only.
Pollination is usually carried out by a certain species of...

Here is a photo of the Catopsis berteroniana, just out of the bag, that I received from Wistuba yesterday. It is potted up into a solo mix of coarse perlite. The plant is still small, standing only about a couple of inches tall.

Hi all,
With all the packing and moving that's been going on at home I've come across a lot of small things that may be of interest to some.
One of these is a small rock water fountain. Water pumps from the bottom to the top via a submersible water pump. I took a look and the entire pump...
This is taking up space, and isn't going to be small for long. And when I have a 5-fot-tall vine of EP's N. Exotic Lady that is producing 8+ inch pitchers, this doesn't look so nice anymore. :p
So, what I have for trade is an established rooted cutting of N. lady Pauline, with two growth...

I return from lurking with a whole string of questions, and a bit of a background story to help put this all in perspective (This is a MUST be done situation, not a "I just want to"). Oh and an apology for any unintentional ranting that may come up.
My daughter, otherwise known as "The Tropical...
Research Growing Epiphytic Utrics
Hi all,
I've been looking around for epiphytic utrics for a while now. Epiphytic utrics are apparently difficult to grow. In the wild they grow on mossy rock faces with “bare peat and sphagnum” , shaded by trunks and branches. Water dries up...

So I recall a while back someone somewhere made a comment that there was not a lot of information on these guys and that that was the reason no one grew them or took up offers for them.
I was drafting up something for a friend and decided to go whole hog so here you go.
And please remember...
