Woke. Up this morning and noticed aphids on some of my plants. I'm forced to quaretine everything until I'm sure that the problem is taken care of. I apologize for the bad news but I will let you know asap when the problem has been cleared. I'm quarenting because I do not want to risk anyone...
I'll start with the most obvious.. empty milk jugs for RO water.
Beanie Baby cubes & Lowe's death cubes. All drilled out and ready for use.
They make great clear pots for cephs and regia, which have really long roots. Also going to be converting my tuberous dew collection to these pots...
I got about 20 of these death cubes for free from a family member. I'm going to drill drainage holes into the majority of them, for use as tall clear pots for the cephs, tuberous dews, and regias.
BUT, I'm keeping a few of them as small terrariums for stuff that does well in these covered...
Instead of making several threads for every season, I'll be posting my photos from Meadowview here. I live close by and volunteer frequently, so this one thread will keep things nice and tidy.
Anyways, we just finished up our volunteer week yesterday. We got a lot accomplished, as you will...
Here is my (freshly cleaned) CP/orchid case. I used to have many mini orchids in this case as well as a larger version in the same bay window. Having a you kid (now 3) running around has limited my time. This smaller case has slowly been used more for CPs, which don't need quite the attention...

Hello friends,
I've been offering to trade for more cephs recently, and I thought I'd post a pic or two of my current cephalotus. They seem to be very hardy plants...and reasonably fast growers (let's just say I didn't expect it to grow so fast!)
G'day , been growing CP's for hhhmm about 18 years seriously but had them for about 24 years , have a very large collection of CP's now day's , slimming it down because of the time it takes to look after them and mobility , my main green house is 27.5 m long and 5 m wide air-conditioned...
Recently my cephs have been getting some unusual white fuzz on their leaves. I've been spraying with Maxsea 16-16-16 but I've not been rinsing afterwards. I think it has to do with the Maxsea because otherwise my growing conditions seem to really encourage mold! Has anyone else experienced this?
I've had mealies on my Sarrs and Cephs.. a couple on a VFT Royal Red. I sprayed those down with the strong Bayer stuff, and I'm neeming everything else. All of a sudden I have spots on my Nepenthes and I'm wondering is it side-spray from the Bayer stuff (I do spray at night so they don't...
So I've been doing some thinking after talking to the GrowLab kids. My plants have started growing so much better since I started growing them in water (raised humidity). Well, I'm still getting burnt LFS so I wanted to dampen the light a bit. Plus I wanted to adopt a better growing style...
I'm interested in increasing the genetic pool of Cephs that I grow for potential future breeding experiments. For trade, I have several small, robust clones of Cephalotus 'Hummer's Giant'**.
I am interested in acquiring established*** Cephs with some distinctive trait (or traits). Examples are...
I am looking for different species of cephs to add to my colection. I have large nepenthes for trade of multiple species, and pics can be given upon request. If anyone has some HG or other species and took any leaf pullings over the years let me know and we can hopefully come to an agreement
Still going to use this for droseras.. but I decided to use it mainly for cephs. Had to repot one, started using live LFS heads as top dressing, and just went nuts. I'll just add the dews later in the fall. Added a few ivy cuttings as well. In due time, this tank will be looking good.
Sorry...
All year long (& out-of-season for N. America), I see people posting, looking for Cephalotus seeds. I gave a head's-up in Big Bella's thread a few days ago & they are now available in the ICPS seedbank. They even made it outside the special seed-donor-only section and are available to all...
The AW plants seem to really hate me. So I'd rather trade them out than kill any more. N. mikei wasn't so lucky.
Seed grown N. macrophylla (Gunung Trusmadi)
6" Seed Grown N. 'Song of Melancholy' (striped)
3" N. ovata (Pangulubao, Sumatra)
3" N. macfarlanei (Genting Highlands...
I need a small trash can for the FIAT, and decided that I wanted to make it. Various ideas flowed through my head, but then I thought of an amp, and the idea stuck.
Six skeins of yarn later, here is what I came up with this:
The special speckly green was done by crocheting with two yarns at...
So I saw these pots the other day at the local nursery (the one I work next door to, actually :-D ) and thought they might be good for someone (like ME!) who can't remember to water their plants in a timely manner. I was thinking they'd work for VFT's or ceph's that don't necessarily work well...
