Right, like i said over in my introduction thread, I finally managed to get my hands on some CPs today. Sadly, all of them in more or less poor condition and with no ID tags ;/
Would be cool if you guys could help me slap a name tag on these babies D: For what it's worth, all of them came from...
Will Apologise Now For The Long Rambling Post / LOL
Would mainly like to trade for HL Neps or Nep cuttings / Would also be interested in Sarrs
But I'm pretty open since I would really like to get rid of most of the stuff listed below to free up some space
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
Note: I am always open to trades... but I never have much to offer. If you don't want cuttings of plants or seedlings, my trades are mostly me paying the shipping and bowing down to you :lol: If we do trade, though, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT PRIORITY FLAT RATE. I think it's just a waste of money, so...
Okey, here's what's going on:
I have 4 cacti, which I cant get pics of, (its a long story) I cant really identify, and I want to use their pot for a bunch of CPs.
Cacti 1 is, I believe an Echinocereus.
Cacti 2 is a type of (very spikey) ping pong padle cactus. I know there is a better name, but...
I tried dragon fruit last july, and though I wasn't impressed with the white fleshed fruit, I really enjoyed the red fleshed one (Hylocereus costaricensis). I sowed a bunch of the seeds and right now I have about 50 tiny dragon fruit cacti. I have 30 red fleshed seedlings and ten white fleshed...
My father has lost his job, which makes the $85 rubra purchase I was going to make (my money) from Phil at MeadowView not too popular with the family. I have been growing cps for two years and a half.
Here is my grow table that is missing all kinds of plants. I have 5 pots to fill with sars...
My succulent collection will be exploding in the spring with many stapeliads and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good trading site/forum etc? I already use Garden web and I was looking for a cacti and succulent trading forum in the US.
Ooops just now notice the heading wasnt spelled right.
Hey all wow been along time since i been here, well we have sold our home and moved to Harrietta MI. and are completely surrounded by state land with no flippin neighbors to bother us anymore, we have a HUGE house and lots property, good...
Hard freeze forecast, for sure. Heck, we have snow almost to the ground here in San Jose! :0o:
I just spent the last hour bringing all the cacti into the GH (I lost some that way last year, so I wanted to be SURE), and bringing the lowlanders into the house, *just* in case my back-up heater...
My name is Katie, I live in the San Fransisco Bay Area.
I started trying to grow CP's looong ago, but I never really READ the instructions until I killed a $50 N. alata. Them I went back to the basics, and began keeping them alive. I had a modest collection by 2005, but then there was a death...
I was wondering if anyone wanted to trade some cacti pups or cuttings. I have a few that I could trade... I don't know the species on them because they weren't labeled when I bought them, but they are all healthy and happy.
PM me if you are interested
I have a cutting of this one that is...
I have two rooted cuttiings of N. maxima 'Broad Peristome' x 'Celebes Striped' (in a single pot). One is a terminal cutting and the other is a mid-stem cutting which is growing from two nodes. I potted them in Feb and they've been outside for at least a couple months, so are well-established...
Hey everyone, I really like cacti and I though I might try growing some by seed. I read in a book that one of the easiest to grow by seed is rebutia, also the flowers on it are amazing and it is one of my favourite cacti. So does anyone know where I can find seeds from this plant? I looked...
specifically:
Echinocereus coccineus
Echinocereus reichenbachii v. albispinus
Escobaria leei
Escobaria missouriensis
Mamillaria meiacantha
Pediocactus simpsoni v. minor
though if yah have something else that is hardy to zone 3 or 4 i would entertain it....
i have access to Escobaria...
I have rooted cuttiings of N. maxima 'Broad Peristome' x 'Celebes Striped'. The parent plant started as a cutting from a plant someone else grew from ICPS seed and the peristomes get almost black if grown in strong enough light (they don't get that in my house/yard).
I potted the cuttings in...
Make way for NAPA Floor Dry! (used to soak up oil and fluid spills in your garage)
Most cacti people who use the Shultz Aquatic Plant Soil are now using this as it's more product for less. So since I need more Shultz APS I thought I'd buy a bag of Napa instead and try it since it's gotten good...
Last year, I had a very nice, compact, clumping Echeveria. It was producing at least six pups last November. Like all Echeverias, though it didn't like getting overwatered, especially in the cooler months.
I overwatered it and it began to lose some lower leaves. Then I saw that its stem was...
I finally broke down and ordered a red Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum) off Ebay to reduce to bonsai starts. The only local nurseries which have them want $100-$200 for the same size 4 ft tree I ordered for $20 (hell ova markup!). I realize it will be all long and twiggy and I won't get to bonsai...
