Hello everyone! I am a new member to Terraforums and I am loving it so far!
I just had a few lighting questions.
I have an empty 65 gallon acrylic aquarium that I have flipped on its side to use as a "green house" for CP's. The dimension of the aquarium is 36 inches long, 24 inches wide, 18...
This is my sketch of what I think I want. I'd like to get more capensis - particularly the all red narrow.
I've been searching a TON of aquarium sites, vivarium setups, terrarium setups, I've looked back at a lot of the old TF threads on the subject. Searched on youtube in my free time and...
I recently harvested the seed pods from my N. ventricosa x talangensis. They were pollinated with N. x 'Melvino' pollen... So the cross is N. (ventricosa x talangensis) x (spathulata x bongso) harvested from my greenhouse 1/26/14...
My specific N. ventricosa x talangensis...
As you will quickly realize, this title is sarcastic. I am not the average teenager. Instead of being attached to my phone, I'm attached to my hobbies. Whenever people walk into my room, they are stunned and have no idea such things existed. My room is easily recognizable even from outside the...
Hello all,
I'm in search of some N. ampullaria preferably green and red spotted varieties. I can't seem to find them anywhere.
I don't have much in the way of carnivores but I do have lots of freshwater aquarium plants such as crypts, guppy grass, java ferns etc. I also have colonies of red...
I took some stem cuttings of my Nepenthes alata a week ago, and now they are starting to turn black. They are in a glass aquarium with plastic wrap over it which receives a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning. There is a tear over the plastic wrap above the plants so there is some air...
I might have posted some pictures of one of my hamata's early last spring looking all wicked and mean. It responded well to moving into a moss bottomed aquarium with a lid in an unheated room at night but by late May the nights weren't doing the job well enough. I ordered a Magic Chef wine...
I stopped in at PetCo today to check out the local price for aquarium silicone and discovered that they are, indeed, having a $1 a gallon sale for aquariums, until supplies run out or Jan 20th (?). Just thought I'd pass this info along to anyone looking to burn a little post-holiday cash on a...
Hey Everyone:
I bought a ~30 gallon aquarium and got it fitted for a glass lid, intended on using it as another step up when my Neps outgrew their current space. Unfortunately, I accidentally cracked the bottom pretty badly, badly enough that the glass has to be replaced. I went to the local...
Hi everyone! As a member who has joined recently, I've been amazed by the generosity of the people on this forum, and I felt I should give back what I can. I'm giving away four portions of Aldrovanda (1-2 strands each). My C02 system recently broke and while I've been trying to get it fixed, the...
I am about to have a new computer put together and and trying to find a low (or no) cost copy of Win 7. It is unavailable in the retail stores, and in the online venues only as an OEM version for mucho dollars. Or if not OEM, twice the price. I don't want 8. Might anyone out there have an...
So I have a small collection of plants, some doing well, others not so well. Lately I've gotten the bug to upgrade my growing conditions and I'm thinking about upgrading my old wireframe Lowes rack into a terrarium, or adding a terrarium to my collection as I can.
My plan is to source things...
I have 8 reflectors measuring 22" long X 4" deep X 2" tall, these are approx. measurements as they are old used reflectors and may be slightly bent at one end or the other.
1 reflector measuring 17" long X 2.75" deep X 1.5" tall, approx. measurements, old reflector...blah blah.
1 24" all glass...
Hi,
I recently started to grow plants, beginning with an Aechmea bromeliad. It's a hybrid cultivar called "haiku". Since I got it, it has grown a little more roots, and a few leaves.
I made some mistakes with it like putting an osmocote granule into its cup for a few months. only recently have...
Hey everyone. A little introduction. I have practically zero experience with carnivorous plants, in fact I don't really have much experience at all with terrestrial plants. I have however been in the aquarium hobby for a little over 3 years now. I've been keeping aquatic plants in my tanks for...
Hello Everyone!
Today I built a terrarium, using 2 100W fluorescent bulbs, the 18" x 18" x 24" exo-terra terrarium, some aquarium gravel, aluminium foil, cardboard, and a health amount of duct tape. Here's a picture of it;

Hello everyone, it's been a while.
About 2 1/2 years ago, I became obsessed with Nepenthes. Long story short, kill count = 4, lost about 60 bucks worth of material, and general being-annoyed-at-life. Age = 12 1/2. For the past year however, I figured I'd start simple, and work my way back up...
hi i have recently planted some seeds from the following capensis, admirabilis, capillaris and venusta. The conditions of growing are in the medium of peat moss some lfs and some aquarium gravel ( did the vinegar test showed good ) and with lighting i have 2 t8 fixtures with 2 warm and 2 cool...

I moved this one to a room with an extra nighttime air conditioner a few months ago. It has a light but it is not left on as much as the other.
and I left this one in an aquarium with much more light but no drop in temp. at night.
Both are setting on a window sill and have artificial light...
