A few current bloomers ...

Meant to take a pic of this one as it started to open. Starts off white with spots as it begins to open and as the flower matures over the course of a day or so it colors up.

Tiny flowers on this one ... about a centimeter at its widest. This species -- Maxillaria variabilis -- is well known for the wide range of flower colors (yellows through reds to dark reds/purples). Mine is a dark color form.

Nice! I especially like the color-changing Cattleya. Readily available somewhere?

I'll be back soon to show off my new beauties, once the clouds and rain thin a bit. I need good light to get true colors on the magenta one.

IME, I'd have to say "no". I got mine at a show 3 or 4 years ago and have not seen any since. HOWEVER, that said, I also must admit that I have not checked out any online vendors in quite a long time. So you may have some luck if you go a huntin'.

:)

I'm soooo tempted to buy that blue vanda from here: http://www.orchids.com/V-Pachara-Delight-Sakate-FCCJOGA-VKaraulea-x-V-Gordon-Dillon-P1755.aspx

Thinking REAL hard now....

Stop thinking.
First of all, that is -- from what I've seen at shows -- more expensive than it should be.

Secondly, that picture is VERY misleading. It is not that blue (true blue is very rare amongst orchids). The true color is indigo (a blueish purple).

You may now recommense thinking.

Awesome Lep. Been wanting one of these for a while now but have yet to see them at a show.

Loving your Lepanthes Jon. I took an interest in them a few years back and wanted to get a few different varieties. Unfortunately they were very hard to come by here in the US and I didn't want to import. I don't know if that's changed since then.

@Crissytal: yes, they still are relatively hard to find. mine was imported. that being said, it is getting much easier to get them into the states without the paper work. Ecuagenera allows you to purchase, then when they arrive to the States for orchid shows, they ship off your plants, or you could pick them up at the show.

some maor oar-chids...
