Gorgeous! Love that tentaculata at the end. Did anyone get to go home with that pot? Also nice to see the magician himself, old Robby S., in his coveralls.

The tentacs aren't for sale yet. Hopefully they will be soon. They have such a nice color too it!

Im going to use Graham cracker now haha.

nice pics. you should identify the pics if you can. what's that utric in the first pic?

How do you buy from this guy? Send him an email and then go and visit?

you guys are lucky to visit a nursery like this, looks great

U. humboldtii.

Interesting to see pics of the hillside greenhouse (I'm assuming it's the same one we were in). Also interesting to see the small pots of U. humboldtii as he sold the last one he had to elgecko when we were there (& acted like he had no more interest in growing the species).

That last N. veitchii has a sweet peristome!

Mason, Graham cracker, and I visit a nursery..

Surprised the grammar police didn't pick up on that one.

Congratulations, Heather, you're as original as everyone I've met since kindergarten.

I bought a pot of humboldtii, couldn't resist. It's sending out an adventicious thing to find more water. Also got some calycifid!

Mass, it was late.. I was tired.. meh

Rob gave us some very interesting cultivation tips too, talking about the negative effects of RO water and the topic of humidity.

Pablo, I will label the ones I know

Neat picks! Everything cool is never here in little Lathrop... I bet I'm the only person in this city with an interest for carnivorous plants:(

maybe... maybe not :awesome:

Supposedly, nepenthes can get calcium deficiency from the lack of calcium in RO water. As for the humidity thing, Rob said its better to have fluctuation.. he grows his plants with 60% day and 90% night humidity levels.

Nice pictures! That sounds like a super fun trip!

Makes sense since acidic soils generally have less calcium availability but can't it be supplemented through food or feed (MaxSea does not add calcium but DynaGrow does)?

Enjoyed the pics :) I was able to visit their nursery many years ago when I was about 13, and really enjoyed it. It was in the springtime with lots of colorful Sarracenia flowers. I should scan and post some of the old photos I have of the place :).

Did he mention any other negative effects of using RO water besides Calcium deficiency?

Additional random thought:Why is the type on everyone's posts all of a sudden automatically set to center? It's really annoying me. The only reason mine isn't centered is because I specified my message to be left-type. Just one more step in the writing process. And that doesn't fix how annoying it is to read others messages that are centered. Having the type aligned to the left just makes things flow better and easier to read. Moderators, can that be changed back to automatic left alignment as it was before, please? :(
