Is that a Gin Goblin or a remake from another grower? I'm really confused as to how so many of them have lids like a purp cross...

Hi Tony,

Yes it is a Gin Goblin. It's theorized that Adrian Slack may actually contain some purp in it rather than being the straight "Moorei" that people generally think it is.

I've read that before, but it still seems odd. AS shows no sign of purp influence, and practically every AS cross I have seen shots of has the typical trumpet type lid, even with purp influenced crosses like Judith Hindle x AS. I know weird things can happen in hybrids, but the form of your Gin Goblin and many others I've seen is a big departure from what I would expect from the parents. For what it's worth I have four and none of them have purp lids, at least not so far. They are just starting to show mature pitchers now so I guess it could change as they continue on to their final form.

Well, the bigger the pitchers, the more elongated and less regular they are becoming on my TM. Here you can see the most recently opened pitcher in the company of some angasanensis x ventrata.

Beautiful as always Gill. I'm shocked by how variable some hybrids are. Your truncata x spectabilis and lowii x spectabilis would look to be 2 completely different crosses when compared to mine. I have to say I prefer yours
