My nep vent isnt' looking that good. Not nearly as lush as the n.mira. or the N.. mira At least it isn't dead like my alata picher plant .Man these things can be really hard to grow. I just got a new plant its Judith Hindle x [Judith Finn xx Pete Tomato] but didn't like that name so I call it...
I decided to try my hand at starting S. rosea or (S. purpurea ssp. venosa var. burkii if you prefer) from seeds. Now the long 6 week wait while they hang out in the fridge...
I have to wonder if my VFT seeds will sprout first!
only time will tell I suppose...

I found this sucker on my Sarracenia minor x psittacina yesterday. I identified it as Phaneroptera nana - Mediterranean Katydid. It was introduced to California and can be found in the San Francisco and Hollywood area. Sightings have been reported in New York too. I fed her to my S. rosea...

sorry for just getting around to post these. i needed some stress relief . Seems to be paler than I would expect from S. purpurea venosa but not as pale as i would expect as S. rosea (or S. purpurea vensoa burkii).
