I added a 56K warning as I expect this thread to be photo heavy. Get to it folks!

I'm rather new with sarracenias and most of the folks I've asked in person tell me that when the pitchers open up and inflate, there's water inside. All my sarracenia open up with dry pitchers so it infers I'm not doing something right.
May I ask for some guidance please? I keep mine tray...
This auction is for one mature division of Sarracenia rosea, the Burke's Southern Purple Pitcher Plant, the one that produces beautiful pink flowers in spring, donated by Houston Herp Supply. This plant has a rhizome wider than your thumb, and is just now producing late spring pitchers...
Yes, that's right...the anthocyanin-free variant of Southern Purple Pitcher Plant, S. rosea. This is NOT forma heterophylla, the antho-free Northern purpurea, and is not something that the average grower has.
This auction is for one nice two-year-old seedling, about 2.5 inches across, in a...
Yeah, today my family and I went to the beach, and on the way back my dad decided to take a trip through liberty county. First, we were driving down the road and all of a sudden I spotted a stand of Sarracenia flava and then before I knew it I was seeing literally hundreds of them. I was also...
About a month ago I went to the Appalatcheecola (did I spell it right) National Forest and saw some awesome Carnivorous plants in the wild such as S. flava, S. psittacina, S. flava x psittacina, D. filiformis var tracyi, D. capillaris, and U. purpureaand some clumps of live Sphagnum, which made...

Hi guys, im sure most of you have seen some of my posts and know me, but im working as an intern for a botanic garden operated by the New England wild flower society and i was wondering if any of you have a good sized Sarracenia rosea ssp. alabamensis that you could generously donate to the...
Hello, I am purchasing a Sarracenia with 5 different species in it, I only believe there is truly 8 Sarracenia species, so I am looking for a hybrid with the following 3 and only 3 species in it in ANY order
S. alata x S. flava x S. psittacina
It can be also 1 hybrid mixed with a pure-bred...
Finding the correct way for spelling the scientific names of sarracenia is easy. You have Bob Z's sarracenia photos to help out, as well as the many resources through the ICPS. Just the same, I am going to list them for you (species only) to help out.
S. alata-----variations heavily veined...
Yesterday was Career Day at my school and my AP Bio teacher got a Biology professor from FSU. It turns out that he's doing a bunch of research on the organisms that live inside of S. purpurea ssp. venosa and S. rosea pitchers. I was able to talk to him after the presentation and he said that If...
I thought I'd share some fun pictures tonight. I'm quite happy with the photos despite all of these being common CPs. Nothing rare, expensive, and exotic here, but they still look good.

This is its set up I will hopefully get some pictures of the gall her sooner or later shes kinda stressed out of the whole people thing don't want to bother her to much.
I think this set up will be good for her, I'm checking with the people who know right now! Cant wait!
Does anyone have any S. rosea that they might be willing to let go of?
I've been looking for some for a while but with no luck.
I would also like to find out how big they got, and how much sun they need.
Thanks
- Dave
