Cultivation details
We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though it experiences very cold winters in its native range[192] and so should be completely cold-hardy in this country. The main problem it is likely to face is with our cool damp...
I just got a ventrata. It has two large vining stems and 7-9 basals.
I wanted to take stem cuttings, but I was wondering if I should divide some of the basals because they are really crambed together.
will basal division slow it down?
does crowding even matter?
Thanks

Hello,
I'd like to share my setup for my propagation chamber - a ten-gallon terrarium that I use to raise CPs from seed and give some plants some extra TLC.
The whole setup:
Some Nep seedlings:
Some Sundews and live shagnum:
Sundew seed tray:
And a few closeups on my D. ordensis...
Just to share some pics. ;D
The offshoot already has leaves producing dew.

Hi. First of all, I couldn't think of a name, so I decided on something that rhymed, and yeah xD.
Anyways, this is a propagation update in my collection, but, I would also like to make this a reference because I'll explain how I got things to germinate/strike and what not.

Can I use carnivorous leaves for propagation?
I read that they will only work for non carnivorous, but I would like to make some back up plants.
Thanks for the help,
Alec
Cephalotus Propagation -- No, "Patience" . . .
At one point during the NASC auction this year, a generous donor had offered leaf pullings from her Cephalotus "Hummer's Giant" and had accounted at how she had been surprised when a leaf struck after four or five weeks -- though she had also...
This topic comes up now and again... propagation of Sarracenia from leaves. If I remember correctly, several folks have gotten the upright types (flavas, leucos, etc.) to root, and look like they will continue to develop. However, I have not heard reports back if any of these ever produced...

As for me, I'm sorry to say that most of my collection died. I really don't know...
Okay, I should have titled "questions" plural.
Where exactly on a capensis do the flowers form? I've read "on every stalk" but I need to know what to look out for so I can snip them before they become a weed. I have them in a terrarium at the moment with other plants that would not appreciate...
