    New arrival: pinguicula macrophylla

Giving this plant a second try after spending about a year growing Mexican pinguicula. This pinguicula macrophylla is brand new to me. I received it less than a week ago from a reputable nursery. It's growing about four inches from four 4' T8 lights, day temps around 80F, nights around 60F...

Pros and cons of using transparent pots?

Greetings. I'm currently working on a small terrarium with a few plants (Cephalotus, Drosera, and a Mexican Pinguicula). However, I've been having difficulty finding the exact pots I need. I need something somewhat tall for the long root system of the Cephalotus, but I can't find the exact pots...

Fungus gnat larvae eating my live sphag

Sorry for a second post on pests but I rather get rid of them then regret not doing anything. I have a small 2.5 gallon tank with my nepenthes ampullaria and my utricularia longifolia and apparently fungus gnat larvae are snacking on my live sphag. Usually I have no problem with fungus gnats...

    Unknown pest

There are tiny pests about 1mm long circular, black, and shiny on my pinguicula. Anyone know what they are? So far no damage is observed, but I don't want to see any either. Pics coming soon.

Missing lots of labels, need help! (Drosera and Pinguicula)

I am in charge of the CP's in the greenhouse at my university (this will be my second year actually) and many of the labels are either faded or missing. I'm more of a Sarracenia and Nep guy, so I need a bit of help identifying some Drosera and Pinguicula. Please excuse the weeds...part of trying...

    How much LUX?

I have some light options for my Pinguicula shelf. How much light lux would you recommend for them? I have one set that has 8000 lux at 12 inches and one light fixture (C5s) that has 15,000. Is that strong enough? So should I get something brighter? Thank you

    LF: Any rosy-hued Mexican Pinguicula

As the title says. I'm not picky as to species, even if it's a NoID (though known parentage is preferable to satiate my label OCD). Any plant or leaf-pullings that exhibit noticeable pink and/or purplish hues in the leaves will fit the bill. Up for trade are: VFT 'Akai Ryu' (approx. 1.5"...
