I've had this cactus for about a year now, I bought it from a Chinese lady at a flea market who barely spoke English. All I know about it is that the leaves root readily and that the lady that I bought it from said that it would grow big.
Thanks
Hey guys,
3 months ago I bought this P. Laueana and since then it has been producing smaller and smaller leaves. I have kept it in the window where it got plenty of sun most of the time and the soil has been kept moist with the tray method. Also I live in the netherlands, so spring is just...
Hello guys,
What is going on with this ventrata?... i give it 5 hours of direct sunlight and it is standing next to a sanguinea and a rebecca soper that look good. Some time ago I had problems with its pitchers not totally forming and leaves all green, now it's the complete oposite: dark big...
I have a Small Nepenthes that I got about a month ago. And it's in a 1 or 2 inch round pot. It is just a little plant now, however, if I wanted it to grow, should I re-pot it now? or wait for it to make some pitchers before I start to think about it. I know it's only been a short while, but I...

Yes this question does get asked often. Local nursery owner informed me that there were changes on the Peat Moss extraction/distribution market and the brand I used to get is not currently available.
I tried several brands and generally found that whatever is sold in Lowes or HD (Premier or...
I'm curious how common this is. I know a lot of people cut the leaves in half when rooting cuttings and won't get the chance but I thought I'd check anyway. When I received this cutting 2 months ago, the pitcher shown was about 1/3 the size. To my surprise it kept growing rather than dying...
I suppose it's about time so I'll start with some recent pictures. Quite a few actually.
Plants waking up outdoors.
Some native Oregon sphagnum I'm growing with the outdoor plants, covered with netting to discourage those pesky birds.
My crazy S. "Daina's Delight" growing more than 100...
Hello everyone. I have been in the chat and lurking around a bit so thought I'd finally put together an intro thread. I'm just starting to get into carnivores aside from some success with Nepenthes before and a failure with Darlingtonia outdoors over winter some years back. I have a 4ft T5...
Finally. I never take the time to get nice photos of my plants that I feel are presentable enough to make the effort of putting them on the forums. However, I took a few nice photos today (for Instagram with my not-so-good phone camera) while I was renovating my highland terrarium so I feel like...
Give away for a random NASC auction donor for the year of 2016, the winner will receive 3 Ceph leaves - NOT Rooted Plants of my choice. I will try to work with the winner to send a clone they don't already have but no promises.
The winner will be chosen before the end of the month, a few days...
Up for auction is 1 large seed grown D. 'Albino'! You don't see these very often, they are so very rare!! (yeah, right) This is likely you ONLY chance to get one! (well, and support the NASC at the same time at least) so bid generously to get your hands on it!
I will send it either potted...
Hi recently my Nepenthes bellii x robcantleyi appears to have some sort of problem. Its new growth on the last couple of leaves has begun to become stunted and the two newest leaves haven't really developed properly. There is like a brown rust like colouration on the new leaves and near the base...
Hi folks,
Up for trade are two Black Wattle or Acacia melanoxylon plants, grown from seed provided by Randy Story. They're displayed above but will be bare-rooted for shipment. These are botanically quite interesting because they produce wonderful feathery leaves like a Mimosa as well as...
As i look through my greenhouse i have noticed that my Mirabilis var. Globosa is much paler than the rest of my plants. All the plants were moved into the greenhouse a few months ago and have adapted well. Although my "Viking" has grown by leaps and bounds, and is now begining to show signs of...
Hey, everyone. I have questions about the Maxsea fertilizer. I had heard about it on this site. I know I hadn't see it at my local stores, so I went to my trusty amazon.com account and found a 1.5lb container of the 16-16-16 for $19.98 and free shipping. I don't know if that's a deal, but it...
I have a small collection of cephalotus. The problem is though I tend to pay more attention to my nepenthes and so my ceph
s get neglected. They seem to be doing ok but I have decided to take better care of them starting now. Usually I don't check them or water them for weeks at a time, but they...
Drosera slackii #2 - Robert Gibson called the plant "A Living Jewell from South Africa"
This South African rosetted sundew is distinctive for it's guitar shaped leaves with co**** red hairs on the the undersides. While this plant is rather easy to grow it is difficult to find the conditions...
Echeveria purpusorum is a neat little plant. Small and really interesting color/shape. Fairly slow growing, not as slow as my N. singalana. I've heard they're hard to cultivate but I havent had any trouble from leaf pullings. The pics are the plant you will be getting. It's in a 3.5 inch pot now...
