Happy birthday to me! :boogie:
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin (theplantman) and exploring the greenhouse that he curates. I ended up going home with a bunch of cuttings and more seed than I could ever sow, so I am going to share the generosity that others have shown me...
I spent this weekend visiting different CP sites throughout New England. The first stop was a failed attempt to see Pinguicula vulgaris in New Hampshire with Natch. The site is at the top of a large talus slope. We were able to get about 3/4 of the way up but then got stuck at a thick treeline...
I believe I now have enough plants to make a grow list. Not large, but over the course of just this year I have doubled it! :D Hopefully next year I will have a few more plants to add.

So I joined this forum over a year ago and never really participated much. However, I've learned alot from the great community here and am hoping to share the little knowledge I have and gain some more! I'm currently in college (Penn State) and spending the summer at my parents farm before...
Giveaway Time!
Was originally going to wait for my VFT seeds to drop before doing this but they seem to be taking a while. Seeds were harvested at the end of last season and unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to strat these over the winter.. Any trades are welcome and appreciated but not...
I had a rough winter, for a variety of reasons and am trying to get some plants back into the collection:
I lost all of my VFT's and cobra lily, D. adelae, D. prolifera, D. falconeri, D. ordensis,... spatulata, capillaris,
rotundifolia, intermedia, burmannii. gypsicola, cyclosecta, gracilis...
Hello everyone!
I figured it was about time I gave back to the community. So I am giving away a pack of D. intermedia, D. affinis, D. aliciae, S. rubra ssp jonesii, and approximately 20 vft seeds of my own cross, a b52 and a2 hennings giant.
These will all go to one winner, if he or she...
Returning the generosity I have received recently, I am hosting a new giveaway. This is for US members only, and you must be willing to post something of your own as a giveaway in return. The winner of this contest will receive a packet each of the following seeds: Utricularia calycifida "purple...
Sad to say my collection of Sarracenia species, dionaea and drosera were wiped out by the cold this past winter here in Vermont. The previous year I only lost one plant, this past year I think only 2 plants out of about 25 pulled through. I kept them high on a shelf in my attached but unheated...
Up for auction is 1 packet of 50+ Drosera intermedia 'Cuba' seeds. Here's a picture of some full-grown plants.
D. 'Cuba' is a small, fast-growing sundew that reaches about 2 inches tall at maturity and has a great red color under high light. I started mine from seed and had a very high...

Jpappy's porch growing photo thread
Got a bunch of new plants in today and ready to start my outdoor collection. All US natives and hybrids at the moment. Apologies if Sarracenia names are a bit incorrect, my taxonomic knowledge of the genus is a bit rough so this is how they were labeled from...
I failed to do my due diligence and research what to do before my plants arrived, but today I only received a small batch (a D. filiformis, D. intermedia and a P. primuliflora). The former two are definitely dormant, but the primuliflora is flowering. Next week I'll be receiving a big order of...
Went with the UF Wetlands Club to a local bog in honor of World Wetlands Day, which is tomorrow. The water level was pretty high, but still plenty of S. minor, Sphagnum and Utrics, and we even spotted a few D. intermedia that were floating around.

if you have plants and a heatpack that works too. or even a point in the right direction to an online vendor...
I've decided to consolidate all my photos of wild carnivorous plants and other associated flora into 1 thread. So far, I've visited bogs from Maine to Florida, I'm hoping to add a West Coast trip this summer.
This 1st bog, an Atlantic White Cedar Bog is almost within Boston city limits. It...
