And sorry about how horrible they look...1. it's not sunny out and 2. I assume they had a rough time in VA last winter...maybe I'll need to repot the whole minibog because the material was bad or something.
Sarracenia leucophylla:
Sarracenia psittacina:
Sarracenia rubra gulfensis...
My plants have never looked so bad. Usually by this time of year they are gorgeous, lots of pretty colorful pitchers. All my tall sars are flopping over, and there is a lot of phyllodia. They look horrible!
I do have them in full sun all day, and I was keeping them in pools so they were in...
Pic above was back in 2009 when I visited. Below is from CNN today....horrible.
Curious about how this would affect the CPs living close to the seashore sites (ie, Tarklin Bayou, Garcon Pt, Apalachicola, etc).
Originally set up for Aldrovanada (which I no longer can see), it turned into a lost cause sanctuary for Darlingtonia (cool running water and shade), as well as a home for U. alpina, Cephalotus, and a Heli. Also in there are 3 pots of D. macrantha tubers, and either dead or severely unhappy D...
Yeah... as the title says the weather has been pretty horrible this season. I still have sarrs that haven't even begun pitcher production. The temperatures are significantly cooler than normal and the wind has been destructive. A lot of the plants that have produced pitchers now have broken...
Both my plants (regular and Hummer's Giant) have lots of immature pitchers - the Hummer's came with a couple mature ones when I bought it (so I didn't grow them). Here's some macros of the plants:

Horrible shots of the Hummer's --
The other night I had a routine mission: Drive up a road for a few miles at 5 miles an hour and do laps around that road looking for people laying bombs to blow us up.. Well instead there was a small group of men carrying AK-47s. I thought they were IPs (Iraqi Police) but there was no truck near...
Last year, around my B-day, Labine (Pascal) sent me this...
They grow up so fast! :'(
Out of the box, and potted up. May 2009.
Pitcher used to take the cutting
Sometime later, almost summer 2009.
Growing up! Summer 2009.
A whole bunch of immature pitchers- December 2009 (bad quality)...
Hello! I've been lurking around here for a few months and figured it was finally time to register.
I've only been growing CPs for about a year and a half. My collection consists mostly of sarracenia with a few drosera and vfts sprinkled in.:) What I love best about them (besides their stunning...
I think the Sarlacc from "Star Wars" is the most fearsome creature ever imagined
So yeah, I was watching a youtube video of a mouse falling into a Nepenthes pitcher plant, and one of the comments was that the pitcher plant worked like the Sarlacc from "Star Wars"
I did some research on the...
When I brought my Byblis liniflora home on November the 28th, I noticed a smal,l white insect-like body on the soil in the glass terrarium. With, one long, thin leg. My immediate reaction: 'Ew, at least it won't be there for long...'
A couple hours later, I came back to check on the Byblis...
Preferred: plants, seeds, cuttings (please ignore the horrible spelling of names)
I would like:

I've been out of the CP business for far too long. Bear with the story, it's out of nostalgia! I have questions at the bottom for those who do not wish to read it. Thank you! :)
Yeah, if you're an older member of this forum you'll recognize me. I was like 12 years old when I joined. When I...
This weekend I am planning on getting a 29 Gallon terrarium. It is 30 inches wide x 12 inches deep x 18 inches tall. I'm just not sure what kind of lighting I would put over it. The total room in the wall I am putting it in is 35 inches wide and 24 inches tall. This means I'll have to get...
Does Any one Know Someone W/ KLS (Kleine-Levin Syndrome)
My Aunt has just been diagnosed with this Very rare an Horrible Disease.
I had to for the first time this morning watch my Aunt go from a normal talking adult to what we thought was her dieing but she just when out (sleep ) then woke...
I just got back from Home Depot, and while there I saw this VFT with curly teeth, wavy traps, and a double trap baby leaf! I'm posting some pics because it's really cute, but also I'm horrible at these I guess. ...I put mine outside in a saucer full of water with the other Home Depot rescues...
I want to get Vista 32 bit onto my desktop so I can setup my midi synth and digital studio stuff on this machine (which is XP 64 and the stuff won't install). So I was thinking, instead of spending $250 on Vista, couldn't I just install the software package (reboot disk) from my Toshiba Laptop...
A view of some of the D. indica as I was strolling through my grow area in the morning. As always, I must add that I'm a horrible photographer. I have seed if anyone's interested. Anyone have D. indica 'red' available?
I lol'd.

Surprisingly enough, it's already up to $2,700 with two days to go.
It's super duper hot here in Florida right now and I keep my plants in the window sill. We got a cat a few months ago and she likes to get up there and try to eat the plants so we keep the shade down to where she can't get up there. Well anyways, had been remembering to water them pretty often...
