Went out with Joe (Seedjar) and my friend Ron to Jerry Addington's place yesterday, and had an amazing time... Jerry is an incredibly knowledgeable and generous man, with many many beautiful Sarracenia, so of course i could not leave his place empty handed ;D
Well he did not disappoint as he...
Hey everyone,
I haven’t shared pictures of my Sarrs in a while, so here goes. =D
This one was given to me as S. flava var. ornata, but I’m beginning to think it’s S. flava var. rugelii…

Up for grabs is 1 mature, at least 5 year old S. purpurea subsp. purpurea f. heterophylla.
It's roughly 1/5th the size of this (got 5 divisions out of this clump, photo is from last year) :
Pruned and divided just yesterday, most pitchers from last year were cut off:
You are bidding on...
Here are the 2 front bogs desperately waiting for spring. I've already done a ton of trimming, the bogs are PACKED with Sarracenia. I'll add more pics monthly as the season continues.
<a href="http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h434/Nepenthes138/?action=view¤t=random006.jpg"...
If anybody's got any interesting plants they'd like to share, I can unload a flurry of weedy dews running through my pots. I can also divide some Sarrs.
What I have are:
tokaiensis (redder than spatulata if that helps) plantlets, seedlings, leaf cuttings
spatulata (greenish) plantlets...
I have a large specimen of stapelia hirsuta that is well over 10 years old. It is hard to know exactly how old it is because I acquired it from the city hall of a small rural town. The city hall got the plant from an older gentlemen, who is now deceased. They gave it to me (after he passed)...

Good morning!
I've got a bowl containing five recumbent Sarrs... (Same bowl as in the "winterizing" thread.)
Two of the sarrs, S. purpurea ssp. purpurea f. heterophylla and S. purpurea ssp. venosa var montana, have been struggling. It's been about two months for the heterophylla and about one...
S. purpurea subsp. venosa var. burkii f. luteola (What a mouthful.... :D ) From Liberty County, Florida of course.
1 of my 2-year-old seedlings (The most pic-worthy, that is. :p)
S. psittacina 'Green Rosette' from Baldwin County, Alabama. A flowering-sized plant, but an extremely slow grower...
it sure took its time, its my slowest purp but it has started producing fairly well for me this season.
I got it last fall , and it was nice then, but I thought it wouldn't make it this year , but MAYBE:blush:
It is hard to photograph as it just glows and blows out the pic every time, this is my...

This might not be something you see everyday.
P. heterophylla makes dormant bulbs, that remain in bone dry conditions until they are ready to spring forth with new growth again.
Here is a flower that has risen out of one of these dormant bulbs, before the leaves have gotten going.
