im in coastal new jersey....so 95 max and high humdidty....i was planning on putting my vft's, sarrasina, and sundews outside for the spring and summer. But will my cape dew, and two forked dew thrive in these conditions?
i initially thought this plant was just a weed...until i saw something shiny.
i poked it and as it turns out, this thing has GLANDS! :-O it doesn't look like any type of sundew to me, what is it?
btw im not talking about the forked sundew...hahaha.

Did anyone else go to Nepenthusiast's lecture on flytraps? It was very spirited and well-done, I thought.

Hey folks, I have a D.filiformis that is forking at the ends of the leaves.
Is this common?
I got it as an unknown so don't know exactly what it is.
Not all leaves are forking.
Most leaves that have forked have forked once, at least one has forked at the ends of the forks.
At least one has...
I read that some sundews prefer a more sandy medium and some a more peat moss medium. Also the four different sundews I have are mainly forked sundews but I have one tropical and one cape. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the main difference between these four. D Dicatoma Giant, D Capensis...
I need advice from someone that is growing both VFTs and assorted forked sundews in a climate that is very dry and has very hot summers. I live around central to southern california in the high desert. I am growing VFTs and Dicatoma, Capensis, Marstons Dragon, and Multifidia Extrema. I recently...
I have several root cuttings of Drosera Dichotoma "Giant" that've been growing well for the past few months, and they're now outside. :-D Recently, I fed 2 of them a very secret plant food/liquid that is found in every one of us, and quite a few other organisms on the planet.( I found out last...

A few things to trade
I don't really want my U. gibba any more. I don't want to just throw it away. And my D. aliciae is not doing very good in my conditions. I'm pretty sure the D. aliciae can be fixed. This is my first time trading so I hope I do it right. The gibba has some algae in it, but...
My mom recently sent me this picture of my forked sundew with a flower stalk. I'm not 100% on the species because I got it as a hitch hiker, but I'm pretty sure it's a D. dichotoma 'small red form'. The dealer I got it from said it's the only species he has that spreads around the greenhouse...
One illustration which always me struck as a kid, searching through my father's old collection of scientific books, was a Rube Goldberg-style "mouse-trap" analogy of the very complex nature of a Utricularia trap, which appeared, complete with legend, in 1942's The Carnivorous Plants by Francis...
I had some forked sundews (Drosera Binata) out in full sunlight for several months. The leaves and tentacles were really red, but the leaves were about an two inches high at max. I moved them to my covered porch about a week ago, and now the tentacles are white, the leaves are 4 times as tall...
I'd just received this beautiful looking dark maroon forked dew (thank you :) ),
I have a pretty good idea... but not my area of experience.
So I need a specific ID please
Thx,
Av
