I have many Darlingtonia seedlings and one larger one and was thinking about spraying diluted orchid fertilizer (Better-Gro) n them as a foliar feed. While I am at it, I thoughtabout trying it with some Sarrs and maybe even a Dionae or two.
Advisable?
There's several ways to do it but this is my way.
I received some N. rafflesiana "Black Speckle" seeds from eBay. I also received N. alata 'giant' x N. 'Miranda' seeds locally.
The first thing I do is prepare 1 cup of rain water. About 10ppm or less water quality.
I add clonex fertilizer...
Hello, everyone, I am Plant Planter, and (surprise!) I have another question which I have not had success finding consistent answers for. (I have so many questions. :p)
Can I fertilize my Venus Flytrap (in any way, shape, or form), and if so, with what?
You see, my lovely typical Venus flytrap...
Hey guys. I don't know if this will be of benefit to anyone reading or not but just in case it is, I thought I would share a few photos of a plant that I used some MaxSea 16-16-16 on about 3 weeks ago. I separated one of my Nepenthes mirabilis var. echinostoma plantlets from the others (all...
Hello,
you are bidding on a one year old seedgrown plant of the rare and magnificent Lilium catesbaei from Baldwin County, AL. This "Pine Lily" can be found growing with Sarracenia. Your plant will have multiple little bulbs and roots. It is not yet greenhouse hardened, but I have found that...
There is a multitude of flower types and colours available on the thousands of Satsuki varieties available, the main four being: Selfs-single colour, Fukurin-coloured centres with white edges, Sokojiro-white centre with coloured edges and Shibori-which covers all the stripped, half & half...
Hello again guys! It's fussy little me again!
My little Laueana is doing fine and growing well but I noticed that when I go to pluck off dead leaves it's really easy to litteraly lift the entire plant out of the pot! It's attached to a clod of dirt and two rocks with moss on it.
Being so easy...
Hello TF,
I'm pursuing a new cheap project! Recently, I was assigned a project in school where we have 7 weeks to pursue anything we want, and then we give a presentation on the process and what we have learned by the end. It's an awesome opportunity, and I have decided to move up my summer...
For some time I have been watching an eBay seller offering Ceph's that apparently lost the ID tags and might be one of the giant varieties. He might be right because the one I bought from his website as a typical variety is a fairly small plant and producing some pitchers approaching 1.5". I...
Several weeks ago I posted pictures of some Nepenthes seedlings that look pale yellow or very light green. I have been messing around trying some things and believe the faded look is due to too much light. I have several plastic cookie boxes and several 72 cells germination boxes with many...
I spent several days observing and taking close pictures of a new large pitcher opening. I placed diluted orchid fertilizer into a couple of pitchers in each of three plants three weeks ago and this pitcher just exploded in size reaching 1.5 inches so far. The plant itself is the smaller of the...
I've looked through previous threads, hoping to find the answer to this, but since I didn't really find anything that satisfied my question(s), I'm posting on here for a solution.
I have a young-well, actually TWO-N. mirandax hybrids that I purchased last spring at a reptile show from a guy who...
I got some MaxSea fertilizer that I use foliarly on my Nepenthes. It has a ratio on the thing of like 1tbsp per gallon, but I do 3/4tsp per gallon like directed by the nursery owner that uses it on all of their CPs. I want to fertilize my sundews and my sarracenia. I have 15+ of each aliciae and...
I'm sure we've all seen some on general gardening sites
Just thought I'd post a few of my faves for the fun of it

1) Here's the question asked
"I just received my first Nepenthes Ventrata plant (photo's below) and the pitchers have no fluid in them. What can I do...
Would that be something of applicable interest?
-Instead of direct foliar feeding; would it not be better absorbed by the plant as a super-fine mist?
-One would think the coverage and absorption would be infinitely better.
-Downside is i suppose with the fertilizer being misted would...
Hey,
I've been wanting to start fertilizing my sarracenias and I was wondering what brand names are the best and at what dosages.
I've seen Miracid and Miracle Gro Orchid Fertilizer in the local stores, are these any good?
Responses will be appreciated
Thanks!
reasons why:
1. low maintenance; water tray once a day; the end. -however I am in the process of doing a self contained bog container so I'm hoping this will lead to less watering.
2. can be grown outside; well where i live anyway.
3. looks cooler in person; pictures don't do these things...
