    So, uh, what now?

A few months ago I was extremely lucky that a member of this forum traded me some cephalotus leaf pullings. I potted them up in damp shredded LFS with sand mixed in. I bagged em and put them under 16h/day grow lights. While 3 of them succumbed to fungus/mold, one marched on and today I noticed...

    Cephalotus Phil Mann

I've had this clone for many years, it came from a TF member that will remain nameless to protect them from gimmie/gimmie spam, I'm not 100% sure of the TF member but I believe I recall the correct person, it was one of the first few Cephs I'd acquired and did not realize the importance of...

    Help with pest ID.

I found these bugs in a closed cup of ceph leaf pulls. The have a shiny black abdomen and 2 pretty good sized antenna compared to it's body. Small, like mite size, maybe slightly larger. Capable of decent speeds, faster than mites for sure.

Anyone using lava sand instead of silica sand?

A friend who grows bonsai gave me a small bag of red lava sand. Its basically like crushed up lava rocks like one would use in a nep mix. Has anyone tried using this instead of silica sand or in combination with, for their ceph mix?

    Returning to CPs

Hi all! I've grown carnivorous plants (in their hundreds—mainly Utricularia, Sarracenia, Drosera) for 10+ years—but that's a while ago. In 2008, I had to give up my large collection... *sniff*. I'm getting back into it now, although I don't think I'll be able to go as crazy again as I used to...

    Ceph with coffee

I have long wondered if cephs would be compatible with coffee as a fertilizer (not trying to restart the old argument just something for fun). So I decided to give it a go with the few cephs I have. The first one has had a good increase in speed of growth and the second made a much larger...

    What is this? Cephalotus ball?

I was messing around with one of my cephs, looking for new growth, kinda scraping some crud off the side of the stalk when this popped out. I believe it's part of the plant. Did this ceph just make a gemmae lol?

    Need Ceph Cotyledon Photo

Hi guys, I've got some cotyledons I am unfamiliar with coming up in a pot of Ceph seeds I am hoping to germinate. The timing is right and they were the only seeds in the pot, so I think I may have gotten some germination. I've never germinated this species from seed, so I'd love to see photos...
