Here is the bog before the demo. It was extremely overgrown with grasses, sedges, ferns, oxalis and many other various weeds. Plants had just been stuck in there...

The Cape Sundew lives in arid South Africa, and I heard that it can go long spells without watering.
Drosera Binata, the fork-leaved Sundew, supposedly can survive long spells without watering too.
I have heard that D. Brevifola does OK under those conditions too.
So what are the Sundews that...
I was watering my plants this morning and also hoped that my near-death binata would come back to life. And so, while I was watering it, a bunch of white insect ran out of the soil and tried to escape. I attempted to kill them all by drowning them and they all started flying or jumping.
What...

So I joined this forum over a year ago and never really participated much. However, I've learned alot from the great community here and am hoping to share the little knowledge I have and gain some more! I'm currently in college (Penn State) and spending the summer at my parents farm before...
Alright everyone, in lieu of the recent giveaways on this forum, I've decided to return the generosity and host one myself! Up for grabs I have 3 young plantlets of D. binata var. dichotoma 'Giant' (~4 inches tall) that were started earlier this year from root cuttings taken from my mother...
OK here's Fred with another wort. I have a couple of quarter trays with this fern in and can see immediately that it is super easy to identify in the wild. That's once you've knelt down on mud and decided that the mass of green growth isn't grass or reed and your high power loupe hasn't steamed...
I decided to make a thread for the tub I am using to grow my Orchidioides Utricularia. The first post can be found in the section Orchidioides discussion thread.I started this a little more than a month ago, with Utricularia reniformis and asplundii. Currently in addition to those I have...

I will ultimately be giving away several plants, most likely, plants that resulted when I divided a new plant. I just divided the plant. Because the roots will not immediately be extensive, and the plant will need adjustment...
