Actual Plant:
Mature-ish pitcher for reference:
Up for auction is this Nepenthes sanguinea. A recent basal division with roots. The plant is about 6" across and pitchering very well. I recommend this plant to those just getting into Nepenthes as it is both attractive and tough. I can grow it in a windowsill in NM with no additional care and...
Figured that I would post a few pics of a new pitcher. This plant had an odd sudden die back and was left with a tiny basal about three years ago. Now it is settled in nicely and I can't wait for it to reach uppers as the pitchers are gaining more hairs under the lid and the mouth is starting to...
This may be a longshot, but I have a large N spectabilis "giant" x ventricosa that is near flowering size and looks to be close to the vining stage, and I am interested in a N. hamata. I have had the plant for a little over a year starting off from a small cutting. It consistently produces...
Around 15 years ago, probably, I gave my mom a rooted cutting of a seedling plant of Nepenthes burkei x truncata (purchased in 1995 as a seedling from Tom Kahl). The plant grew and pitchered beautifully in my mom's kitchen window for years--a North-facing window in the SF Bay Area. The...
Well, the plants seem finally settled in for the 'winter' here in San Diego, and it's even been 60F by day/40F by night the past few days. Usually the coldest week of the year is the one between Christmas and New Years. With it brings tidying up the plants, and thinking about spring. I've...
After speaking with several members here among other growers, I have realized that there are more misconceptions about successfully growing these plants than I had thought. I wrote the care sheet below last year for the NECPS members to use as a guide for their cultivation and I hope that it can...
Hi,
I have two nepenthes that I would like to trade for cephalotus pullings (or, if you are willing, rooted plants) of varieties other than Hummer's Giant and typical. They can be fresh, or newly rooted.
The first I have to offer is a N. Ampullaria Williams Red x Harlequin. It looks a little...
Here's my grow rack. Temps stay around 75 during the day and 55 at night, with 40 and 70% humidity respectively. Lit by an 8 tube 4 foot t5 HO system with 4 roseate and 4 6500k bulbs, a 4 tube 2ft T5HO with a 50/50 mix of 2700k and 6500k bulbs and 3 10w 3500k LED floodlights. Plants get 15-65k...
So today was my birthday, and luckily enough a bunch of plants I ordered came ON my birthday! So I figured with my collection being a lot bigger now than it was 2 months ago, Id post a nice update with all of my plants included. This is just my indoor collection, Ill post photos of my outdoor...
Repotted one of my nepenthes and saw this a little above the root system
Is this a basal bud, and if so, should I expect the plant to have slowed growth or any other such symptoms that can be mistaken for disease?
Or is it just a newly developing large root?
I have a Nepenthes spectabilis "giant" x ventricosa that is producing a basal offshoot. Next Friday I will draw a random number and send out the unrooted cutting with a heat pack to the winner. I ask that anyone entering is an active member on this forum and posts a giveaway of their choice in...
Today is my Wedding Anniversary. The first person who correctly guesses how many years I have been married will receive a Red Leopard basal sent postage free to them or someone of their choosing.
Sorry..USA only
Today marks our, my husband and I, wedding anniversary. Go to my give away thread and guess how many years. First one who guesses correctly gets a Rep Leopard basal sent free to themselves or someone of their choosing.
Figured I would start my own photo thread for people to see and for myself to keep track of my plants progress.

More basals on the mother lowii x boschiana coming up

I have a cut basal of lowii x boschiana starting to send out roots, a nep Caesar, and typical cephs with adult pitchers up for trade. I would like to hold onto the cephs till they get larger. I am looking primarily for nepenthes hybrids with lowii in them but let me know if you have something of...
This N. Ventricosa 'Red' arrived bare root last week. It is potted in a 4 inch diameter pot. I forgot to take a picture of the roots, but can someone discern whether it came from a basal or was grown from tissue? There are 4 growth points. Also, when would I be able to make divisions?
I finally got around to putting organizing a bit and putting together a trade list. Please take a look and EMAIL (ellisonk001 at Hawaii dot rr dot com) me if you would like to work out a swap. USA only.
I am primarily interested in nepenthes, but will consider all reasonable offers.
