Sad to say my collection of Sarracenia species, dionaea and drosera were wiped out by the cold this past winter here in Vermont. The previous year I only lost one plant, this past year I think only 2 plants out of about 25 pulled through. I kept them high on a shelf in my attached but unheated...

So after reading Cthulu's giveaway thread I was alerted to the fact that some believe D. anglica to be a hybrid between D. rotundifolia and D. linearis. I guess I am confused because whereas D. anglica can be found locally in my area in various localities, I have never seen a D. linearis...

I've decided to consolidate all my photos of wild carnivorous plants and other associated flora into 1 thread. So far, I've visited bogs from Maine to Florida, I'm hoping to add a West Coast trip this summer.

I received this plant off TF and it was labeled d. burkeana. I gave away some seeds in the past and there was discussion that this may not be burkeana, it could be rotundifolia or spatulata. Either way I'm giving away some seeds so start a list if you are interested.

Jeremiah Harris and I decided to check out the Harvard Museum of Natural History yesterday. There is a vast mineral collection on display as well as an array of stunning fossils, skeletons and Victorian era taxidermy specimens from around the world. In this diverse collection of natural wonders...
Hey all, its been a crazy summer for me. A lot has happened over the course of the season and I am way behind on my terraforums love. Now that the cruise ships have stopped sailing and my seasonal work is over, I have plenty of time to get down to business/attend to horticultural matters.
In...
This will be a thread mostly consisting of my carnivorous plants, but also some other random plant photos from time to time.
To start, these are some pictures of the plants that I grow indoors in my basement. I don't have any current photos of plants that I have outside on the deck. Since I...
Went back out to the local bog I visited a few weeks ago. This time, I wanted to get some good pics of some of the other bog plants, and also search for other Drosera. So far, I have only been able to spot Drosera rotundifolia at this bog. It may be that the other natives (D. intermedia, D...
I ordered some drosera rotundifolia from a guy on eBay and I suspect they were poached. They came in sphagnum with some typical detritus and even found a baby leech in it. The plants themselves were unkempt and missing parts of their root system. As well as being very stout, and having very...
This weekend we visited an Atlantic white cedar bog in Southern NH. This location sits in a depression right smack in the middle of suburbia. The area is under threat of disappearing due to the encroaching red maples and grey birches that are invading the bog at an alarming rate. The trees have...
