I thought you all would enjoy some pics:
This is a "Red Rosette Giant x Burgundy Trap Giant Upright" which got HUGE this summer. I got the parent plant several years ago from Phil Faulisi.
A VFT Windowbox, or as Marv put it, a "No Fly Zone":
The windowbox is filled with mostly long...

I have some problems with my Nepenthes.
I have both an Alata and a Ventrata, both suffering from the same problems, I suspect.
The conditions:
They are both potted in the same hanging basket, in the same media, which is fresh pure NZ sphagnum moss. The alata is planted straight into the...

^For the most part, is this true? Do you guys find this plant to be an overall slow grower? When does it begin to produce phyllodia?
Thanks for the info! :)
I just cleaned out my Lowland tank and figured I would snap some pics. I initially cut up my Amp Brunei Red mother and it was looking haggard, I thought I would lose it. It looked worse than it does in this first pic, as it was missing more leaves than that pictured, and the remaining 5 leaves...
Im not sure 100% but I think I read here something related with basal shots and the need to remove them from the main vine or this will become weak and die, or something like that...
I just search and I cant found the post, so Im afraid Im just having a ALIEN fake implanted memory about this...
If by any chance, anyone here still remembers me, I'm backkkk! :0o: I knew all along I wouldn't be able to quit CPs for long, and here it is just a year and a half later and I'm already looking to scratch an itch. The Nep sub-forum seemed like a good place to start since I visited it most...
Hi everybody,
I was able to visit Chickering Bog near Montpelier, VT in July. Great place! Tricky to get to, directions are http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/vermont/preserves/art434.html.
Its about 1 mile in to the bog itself. You would never know it though. The hike...

One more Nepenthes seed germination guide. This one is unique, but if you know Dave Evans, you know this really works for him. He would not recommend something he has not tried.
Cheers,

Dear Nepenthes Cultivators,
Nepenthes start their lives as extremely small babies. This letter is...
I thought some of you folks would enjoy seeing this. For those of you counting, some of the flowers are obscured, so you have to count the stalks. It's in a 10 inch pot.
Several years ago I got a small plant from Philcula and it's done really well as you can see. It's Phil's own cross...
I am having a bit of a problem with my Dente. It seems to have stopped new growth production since a few weeks ago. A little after the beginning of June (around the same time some of my other plants were attacked by aphids), the plant ceased growing new traps/leaves. The plant was NOT attacked...
Please forgive me if I don't use the quotes right. :-O

P. laueana; deciding to make a winter rosette

Does anyone have pics of a peltata or other tuberous GOING dormant? I am wondering what the first signs look like. I have several small peltata that are still flowering, but some of the leaves are dying back for the first time. On one the basal rosette is turning black even though the climbng...
Finding the correct way for spelling the scientific names of sarracenia is easy. You have Bob Z's sarracenia photos to help out, as well as the many resources through the ICPS. Just the same, I am going to list them for you (species only) to help out.

lately both my P. agnata and P. gigantea have started producing rather fat and rounder leaves than the ones before them. Are they going into 'their' winter rosette? I know that they don't produce completely dry and succulent leaves like the others, so iare these their drier season leves...
I have an aquarium that I think is about 35 gallons.. It is cracked on the side so I can no longer use it for fish.. Instead I want to use it as a carnivorous terrarium..
I've been doing a lot of reading and this forum has been especially helpful.. For the setup I plan on keeping the plants in...
