Question about S. flava var. rubricorpora...

My guess is that what he means is the there will be one spectacular pitcher while the rest are smaller. Sarracenia oreophila is like this as the first few pitchers of the season will usually be much larger than later pitchers.
 
Hmmm... I see what he meant now.

Here are some pictures I had seen a while ago that made me question Barry's statement above. I don't know if it's just me, but I have trouble seeing the big, impressive pitchers from the others... Variability in size is expected, right? ....they all look good to me:

I guess it depends on the clone, like Alexis said.
 
I have been fairly lucky with my two plants usually putting out more than one pitcher. I would defiantly agree that they are slow to divide. Here is one of my plants from a few years ago.
