Hello,
Today I went on a surprise trip to a local nursery in Northern California. The plants were absolutely spectacular! I thought I would share some pictures:
A mess of Sarracenia flava and a few Drosera binata in the outdoor bog gardens.
Another bog pocket with various carnivores...
There's several ways to do it but this is my way.
I received some N. rafflesiana "Black Speckle" seeds from eBay. I also received N. alata 'giant' x N. 'Miranda' seeds locally.
The first thing I do is prepare 1 cup of rain water. About 10ppm or less water quality.
I add clonex fertilizer...

I have a purple rafflesiana and a N. "hopeful monsters" merilliana hybrid with an unknown father plant that I might be willing to trade. I'm trying to confine my LLers to a smaller terrarium and free up the tent I'm using for them for some HL plants since I'm running out of room pretty rapidly...
I would like to trade this 18+ inch rafflesiana "typical" cutting. I received it as a rooted cutting with two small shoots. As you can see in the below picture, both shoots have grown into very large plants. Both are growing off older, brown stem. The top growth has made the plant very top heavy...
Not often that I post pics on the forums, so I thought I'd add in a few things:
Everyone's probably seen my N. rafflesiana in the POTM thread, so I'll start with N. ampullaria 'Harlequin'
Followed by N. spectabilis "giant"
And an 8 1/2" pitcher from N. 'Miranda'. I know it doesn't measure up...
I don't update this super often so ask me if you have any questions:
Nepenthes:
N. Muluensis x Lowii
N. Ramispina three pure forms: ( 2 B.E. clones and another wild collected from the 70's)
N. "Hopeful Monsters" = merilliana x ?
N. Albomarginata "Camaroon Highlands"
N. "Gentle" = Maxima x...
I've been meaning to start one of these for a while. I'm going to include some older but favorite pictures to get this started.
NEPS!

A nice little seedling of the not so collectable Nepenthes rafflesiana 'Dark Brown'. I was finally able to get one of the pitchers at an angle to show the opening. I am using a combination of macro lenses on a lens adapter on my Fujifilm S2950 and am probably getting about as good as I can with...
Hello, I recently saw a Nepenthes rafflesiana N. Bruni Squat x (Kondo x Singapore giant 6) for sale and I was wondering if anyone knew how big the pitchers can get on this plant?

I don't think I did this already but if I'm wrong please update me! I am participating in a discussion string about species threatened with extinction and eBay sellers poaching so consider me spanked:-( and no need to bring that up here . Everything I have or are in transit were acquired prior...
I harvested some N. rafflesiana x mirabilis globosa seeds 3 weeks ago.
I sowed some immediately and seeing germination today. They are fertile.
Some of you may have seen the same offer in other forums. After packed a mailed, I still have 2 packets left, 50 seeds each.
I can give out in this...
Nepenthes rafflesiana is my favorite species Nepenthes. It comes in every color: black, red, green, white, tricolor, spotted, or striped. It can be squat, tall, or flipping massive. It can have toothy or solid peristomes, tremendous wings, or flared tendrils. So any pictures you have of your...

It took four+ weeks but the first 4 planted of the 14 subspecies are germinating now, it will be some time before I can tell if they sent what they advertised but I can say that the seeds all looked different. Now I have to order in a lens adapter for my Fujifilm S2950 so I can do some...
