Would you be interested if I was to make a system that can provide ideal conditions for any care intensive/condition sensitive species, or make it easy enough to save a poor Walmart VFT that someone with no prior experience could? Features could include humidity sensing, programmable photo...

Hello, yesterday I picked up a pinguicula Caerulea, it's my first ping and I could really use some tips to keep it alive. I know it's a warm temperate species, and that I need to use distilled, RO, or rain water only. I'm in zone 9b on the west coast and I'm not sure if it needs to be grown...
An idea just came to me after seeing used Chia Pet planters for sale on ebay . . . Wouldn't they be good for growing pings?
Terracotta (the sutff Chia Pet Planters are made of) sucks up water. If placed in a saucer filled with water (like this):
it should keep ping roots properly moist...

Bonjour
have you ever used this kind of substrate ( cat litter ,non agglomerating and unscented) in mix for all the ping calcicolous ?
I would like to have your experiences Returns.

For Trade:
D. Andromeda plantlets (12, roughly 1-2.5 inch plants). The adult plants are roughly 5-6 inches wide! I can either ship them bare root or divided and potted.
I'm looking to expand my Ping collection mainly but i'm interested in virtually anything else i don't have. See my growlist...
So i have to say, there is a lot of conflicting information on Ping dormancy. I've been doing a lot of reading and i've seen everything from "They can survive not going through dormancy" to "Let the PLANTS choose when to do dormancy" to "Change your light/temp/etc... to induce it"
For reference...
I have some extra plant of following ping and looking for a trade for other CP which is not on my grow list.
P. primuliflora ‘white flower'
P. agnata 'True Blue'
P. agnata x emarginata
P. emarginata x agnata

P. 'Titan'

This is what looks like a new division appearing on my P. chilensis. Some of you may have seen this on FB or other forums, but I just wanted to share this, since not many people grow, or even talk about, this Ping.
You can also see some white mold-like substance on the leaf edges and by some...
Hi all,
Got these pings three weeks ago growing in rockwool, or something like that transplanted, and they had very few roots. Planted in a mix of peat, perlite, and sand. Growing in very bright shade, 70s at night, 90s in the day. I keep them in a tray. You can see theyve lost a lot of older...
Unsure of just what the deal is with this plant. It was one of only two mex pings that went dormant on me this past winter. The other ping, an esseriana, came out of dormancy just fine. The moctezumae, on the other hand, looked like it was going to send up a flower spike but then did this:
Hi guys!
I just this little ping like a week or so. I normally keep track on my new plants and noticed that the leaves of this particular ping is getting brown. I'm wondering if its because of the the lights being too close? I'm using an artificial light that's around 8 inches from the plant...

Hey TF. I've successfully pollinated a Mexican ping for the first time. My two p. moctezumae clones flowered together. This was at least two weeks ago. The corolla has fallen off, and the ovary is very visibly swollen. How long does it usually take for seed to ripen? What are common practices...
I've had these plants for years and ID tags have been knocked around or faded. Anything would be appreciated.
