    Help me ID this pest

Ok, looks like another phase in the never ending pest wars for me. It never ends - as soon as I think I've got the upper hand, I find a new bug. I just finished an epic battle with mites that lasted several months. Thought I'd enjoy a break, but nope. Today I see tons of these little things...

    pest.. or somethin

Its related to the nepenthes thread, but i don''t really know what it is because i have less. I pulled some off, but its gone too. Since age is in a matter for products, I cannot buy anything, so is it a pest, or something i can take off, since its not overbearing in numbers.

    Windowsill Nepenthes . . .

Here is a quick shot from this morning of a section of a south-facing windowsill and part of my pest management plan. On the left is an adult Nepenthes ventricosa "Black Peristome" (which flowered earlier and was pruned back) and Nepenthes ventricosa x bongso. To think that these plants were...

    N. spectabilis x ventricosa

I had an interesting discovery today. My N. spectabilis x ventricosa from the NASC auction is blooming (thanks Av!). This will be my first flower. As you can see, the plant itself is huge. I was getting ready to chop it up (space issues) when I discovered I had a pest issue. I don't...

Help Me Identify a Possible Pest

Hi, I recently noticed some abnormal and deformed growth on my S.Alata and N.Sabre. I'm not sure if its a pest problem, but if it is then I would like to know what kind of pest it is and how to control it. Thanks. As you can see, this newest leaf is much smaller and more decrepid than the...

    What's wrong with this leaf?

My N. Sanguinea has an unopened leaf, and the seam or edge thing is all messed up. Is it some kind of pest? A disease? Or is it just a mutation or whatever?

Judith Hindle - Pest or Natural?

I have had this Judith Hindle for over a month now. It sits outside where it gets just about allday sun. When I first bought it there was only one pitcher on it and now there is a total of 5 pitchers on it. The oldest pitcher is starting to look rough. Is it just naturaly dieing off or is...

Like a phoenix from the ashes... D. graomogolensis

My prized D. graomogolensis perished a month or so ago. Some kind of tiny white worm-ish critter attacked the clump from the inside out. They appeared about a couple millimeters in length and possibly 0.010" in diameter... and once exposed they were very fast moving indeed, highly mobile. (I...

    a pest problem

Instead of describing my pest problem I will post pics. I have isolated the 2 trays of infected plants and I have treated with commercial Orthene and it seems to be doing the trick, but what are these? I have never had to deal with these before. Should I do anything else (other than the...

    D.Adelae growing deformed leaves.

One of the sundew's that I bought from Lowes is starting to grow deformed looking leaves. I took some pictures of it but I dont have the best camera so you might not be able to see the deformed parts that great. I checked the plant with a magnifying glass to see if I could tell if there were any...

    Is this a pest?

Hi everybody, I just need to post a quick question on whether the Brown dirty looking things in the photograph below are some kind of a pest. I can't quite tell from looking at it and inspecting the plant close-up. I can say that I keep these in an aquarium, and I try water so I don't think it...

Spider mites or some other pest on my Nepenthes

reading through the other posts, I'm not sure exactly what it is... I had been growing the plant in the campus greenhouse for a few months and while it looks great, it's developed a few webs on it since I've brought it home (they come back when removed). They run from the plant to the edge of...
