Here are some of my flytraps this year. They're comming up nicely.
This is a Big Mouth. When I got it it was teeny tiny and I didn't think it would make it.
Here's what it looked like when I got it. Two of the leaves died and I thought it was over. So I'm happy to see it making this...
I got a few Sarracenias last year for my little tray garden. They did well then of course didn't look so good in winter. I'm not exactly sure what to do now. I know some need to be repotted.
The big one in the back with the brown parts is a rubra gulfensis and it's got grass growing out of...
So it might only be a Ventrata, but the small plant I got from Lowe's about a year and a half ago is now a sizable plant and I woke up this morning to see that a flower is forming above the newest leaf that opened!
I'll post pictures later, and possible see if anyone can tell if it is male or...
So last night I received 6 types of Nepenthes seed I had ordered off ebay in the mail. After running by lowes and getting a 3 packs of the covered seedling trays, I got everything sowed. I used scissors to shred up 100% dried LFS, boiled it to sterilize it, and then filled 6 sets of cells and...
So my last few Nep seed attempts have been made in small plastic deli containers...with very mixed results.
I would like to get higher and more frequent germination, and have seen many people using small seedling greenhouse trays.
My question:
I have 6 types on nepenthes seed coming soon. My...
I think I have this at a local lowes. To my understanding its nutrient free and neutral in pH so I thought i might use it instead of sand or perilte which is unavailable. The trouble is, is that this medium is designed to absorb and release nutrients. Will it harm my plants? Can i use it on...
So I'm taking a trip to Lowe's today to get some much needed supplies for my grow rack.
Before I discuss anything, here is my current setup:

My main addition will be a hygrometer that will regulate a fan/Ultrasonic...
So after about a week of running my grow rack with it zipped up and high humidity, one of the light fixtures has been having trouble coming on in the morning, which I think might be due to the water corroding it or something related.
I just use 2 2-bulb, 2-foot fluorescent fixtures from Lowe's...
I'll start with the most obvious.. empty milk jugs for RO water.
Beanie Baby cubes & Lowe's death cubes. All drilled out and ready for use.
They make great clear pots for cephs and regia, which have really long roots. Also going to be converting my tuberous dew collection to these pots...
This post just became the "summary" of the build. All the pictures I posted here of the build are now in this first post. The original first post is quoted at the end of this one.
And here's the quick video tour:

Hello,
I've had the following neps for some time now and they've done pretty much nothing ever since they arrived, so I'm looking to trade them. All of them are healthy and some are showing signs of new growth and pitcher production.
Nepenthes boschiania x (spectabilis x veitchii) about 3"...
I have a spare reptifogger humidifier: http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=2394
It is missing the hose, but you can get one at any Lowes or Home Depot for 7 dollars. I am looking for pretty much any cp for trade, dews, pings, neps, helis, etc. I would love to trade for any heli...
Grow shelf evolution :)
Dear All,
Gaining the inspiration from threads created by TheFury and Av8tor I have decided to start improving my Freestanding Wire shelf that I got from Lowes a while ago to be a better grow place for my little collection.
Here is how it looked like before with some...
So today I finally stopped by Lowes and picked up some wire to hang my lights below a shelf instead of sitting on top of them and rearranged all my plants while I was at it.
Here's the current setup:

I have my started nep seeds on the top...
So today I was about to go to Lowes and purchase an indoor greenhouse finally, when my girlfriend said she had to give me my present two days early!
She got me the greenhouse I was going to get, and I got it all set up and it looks awesome! Here it is...
I occasionally take pictures around my greenhouse, but rarely do anything with them. I was looking through several years of these pictures, and noticed that I had happened to photograph the same plant on almost the same day for 3 years.
It's a plain-old N. ventricosa "Red" that you can find...
Drosera
D. capensis ‘Typical’
D. filiformis (grown from ‘Florida All Red’ seeds)
D. indica (grown from ‘Pale Pink Flower’ seeds)
D. adelae (Lowes)
D. spathulata
D. binata
D. nidiformis
D. scorpiodes
D. pulchella
D. pygmaea ‘Green’
Sarracenia
S. leucophylla ‘Tarnok’
S. flava
S. rubra ssp rubra...
So I'm going to be purchasing a 4 tier indoor greenhouse from Lowes I think, since it is in my price range and I think I can modify it for what I need. I went online to see if they had any discounts online and I found this...
